What a load of nonsense. A weak America is not in the UK’s interest. America is our biggest trading partner economically and our militaries are intertwined to an extent that a weakening of the UK military has an adverse effect on Britain’s own national security.

As Boris himself said, its his job to get on well with whoever is president.
