I think by this point MTV has been a "not a music video channel" for twice as long as they were ever a video music channel.
The first VIdeo shown on the European version of MTV, back when that Video wasn’t censored and still contained this Verse:

They could have even substituted “Gay Guy” for the word Faggot without cutting up the Song, but that wasn’t good enough. No Soup for you!
Remember the grief Ted Turner got for “colorizing” old Black and White Movies he owned the Rights to on TCM? That’s when Censorship was a bad thing.
I rarely listen to radio anymore. I have many thousands of songs digitally recorded and being as ihavent found any good songs made since the late 1970s. I don’t need the radio anymore. After Rush died I stopped listening to AM radio too.

Yep! And what they did is now common practice, the lip syncing and fake musicians. Britney Spears for example used TWENTY “producers” for her album “Circus”. Those are people who write and record the music for her, she has nothing to do with it, she’s merely a puppet who dances on stage which probably why she’s nuts today. Remember all that crap they gave those guys Milli Vanilli? They even drove one of them to suicide, and today like anything democrats are involved in, they are total hypocrites because they are doing the same thing.
Don’t need much talent anymore. Need to be somewhat good looking (tons of makeup, lighting, and soft focus cameras help here) and have a schtick.
