They came as indentured servants, a type of slavery, but the kind whereby they could buy their freedom, which they usually did. There are communities in Southwest Virginia that trace their roots to Irish indentured servants who worked off their debt and settled in that area.

It wasn’t all bad stuff. I’m a descendent of the Few family, Ignatious Few had slaves. Thirty years ago, There were many black Fews in Atlanta, and even a black church in Buckhead named the Henry Few Methodist Church. Mother and I thought about having a reunion of Fews back then. We felt comfortable doing so. Not now.

“...a federal behemoth attempting to control their lives...”

It was a time when people had more loyalty to their state than to the federal government. The nation had compromised away federalism, but the people hung on to it.

Actually In the 1600s the British did send Irish to work the sugar plantations in the Caribbean. Some may have been sent here to work in the tobacco fields of Virginia or the Carolinas. I have not seen an accurate accounting of any that may have come to this country as slaves. Probably safe to say that by 1700 no Irish were shipped to the Colonies as slaves.

We just want peace. That’s all. Just peace between brothers and sisters. Why is that so hard to get?

There was a white man in Georgia whose wife died. He hooked up with one of his female slaves. He left her his total wealth in his will. She became one of the wealthiest women in America. She moved to Augusta Georgia, she was courted by both black and white men. The white plantation owners sons sued to overturn the will. The Georgia state courts upheld the will leaving the property to the black “ widow”.

Back in the 1990’s the Library of Congress had available on line a very large series of interviews that it had sponsored during the last depression of then surviving ex-slaves. many out of work writers were employed in this program. Most of the interviews were written and some were voice recorded and some were filmed. The ex-slaves experiences were a far cry from what is being taught in CRT so that these actual records are now cherry picked to conform and the rest though still being there are difficult (more complicated) to access.

Are you saying there wasn’t more to be made?

No need to answer. The answer is obvious, of course there was.

The African tribe from which Obama derived was a Muslim African tribe which captured and sold black slaves to the slave merchants from Europe. That is Obama’s heritage.

If they could have made more money share cropping then developing the plantations system, why didn’t they do that in 1800 instead of the late 1860s.

Cherokee Indians were one of 5 tribes who owned black slaves and took them with them to farm the land when they were forced to leave for Oklahoma.

Cherokees also fought valiantly for the Confederacy during the Civil War.

In 1775 all nations had slavery in one form or another. The great change began with our Declaration of Independence. however the struggle against slavery is still going on. as pointed out sex-slivery is a worldwide phenomena and regular slavery is rampant in islamic and socialist nations. This “Reset” is an effort by the rich elite to reinstitute slavery on a global scale.

"I hadn’t heard that there were that many black slave-owners."

The Book The Barber of Natchez tells the story of a Black slave owner.

Didn’t Kamala Harris’ great grandmother operate a slave trading house in Jamaica/Carribean?

The Confederate order of battle does not list a single regiment as a black regiment. The State records do not list a single black regiment in their records. Where did these 60,000 serve? Now if one said that 60,000 blacks served the Confederate Army as teamsters, medical orderlies, cooks, laborer’s or musicians, I would think that about right. I have seen Confederate regimental company muster lists that identified some as black and noted them as cooks, or laborer’s.
for 60,000 blacks to serve as infantry/artillery/cavalry in the Confederate Army, every general officer in Confederate service would have to knowingly violate Confederate Army regulations.

This is not the case with the Confederate Navy. They did allow the enlistment of black freedmen as sailors in that service. Up to 5% of a ships crew could be black. If more were needed to fill out the ships compliment, waivers were granted to enlist as many as needed.

Hidatsas were from North Dakota and were allies of the Mandans or related to them.

Something I didn't know is the Hidatsas may be the parent tribe of the Crow, who were further west, so, you very well could be right.
