Some people here are talking about local butchers. How many of those local butchers buy sides of beef from JBS?

In the eighties I worked at IBP in Dakota city ne. The reality is that the beef industry loves to fix prices as well as fix supply. IBP actually had planned that they never over produced by timing labor strikes with the different plants.

I smell a plot with this latest hack.

LOL, good grief how the intellect of this forum has declined over the last half dozen or so years.

I’ve been in the meat business for over 40 years and am old enough to remember when the local communities best paying jobs bar none were provided by the packing plants. There were guys graduating college only to return home and start work at Swift or Morrell because the pay was so freakin good.

Then came IBP and their labor model into the industry shopping the jobs to illegals etc. at minimum wage or slightly better.

The rest of the industry had to follow suit or get absolutely destroyed by the competition.....It’s been that way ever since.

Might want to investigate that company that produces lab-grown “meat.”

I had no idea that a computer network is now required to slaughter and process beef and chicken.

What next?

My Mennonite neighbors across the highway have a beautiful small herd of Black Angus. We already priced out one of his heifers.

Recent events have seen attacks on the energy and food supply. These attacks will continue and they will expand because they are profitable. Truck drivers are refusing to deliver in Portland and other cities because it is too dangerous.

How do you think this is going to end?

traderrob6,

It is very obvious you don’t know shite about the beef processing industry. JBS is NOT Cargill or vice versa.

I DIDN”T say BEEF Einstein. I was responding to “fool in paradise’s” post stating “ “Not everyone eats Tyson chicken or Smithfield ham.”

JBS owns Cargill (Pork kill) and Pilgrim’s pride”(Chicken kill).

I have a degree in Agri-Business and have sat on both the Pork and Beef desk’s for Swift, Pork desk for Smithfield and John Morrell and Vice president in charge of sales for Lykes bros. and Swift Independent Packing.

I own a Meat commodities trading/brokerage business and have spent 20+ years making myself a millionaire in the endeavor.

The more you talk the more imbecilic you appear as you obviously have no clue and it is quite obvious. Perhaps you should just stfu.
