Do away with government minimum wages and unions. Let supply and demand rule.

Well, why couldn't the City Council simply pass yet another ordinance, prohibiting the grocery stores from shuttering themselves?

"Atlas Shrugs" was supposed to be a cautionary tale, not an Operating Manual.

Regards,

Liberals are, at best, stupid. At worst, clinically insane. They can't even comprehend that their stupid pie-in-the-sky socialist ramblings could hurt the very people they (say that they) want to help.

Workers are now out of work, at any price. And people in the community have no place to buy groceries.

Idiots.

Idiots. They should have also passed a law that no businesses could shut down. They obviously don’t know how to do socialism correctly.

Well, we don’t have anything resembling pure capitalism. Every business and every line of work, is subjected to various governmental regulations. These regulations tend to increase the cost of doing business, but, the point is, every business in America is forced to comply with regulation as a condition of being allowed to operate.

Many people just don’t understand how the economy works, or what’s involved in running a business and meeting the payroll. Unfortunately too many people such as this get into elective office and make laws for the rest of us to follow, without knowing or caring how those laws impact the economy and business operations.

The only place that real pure Capitalism ever took place was in Hong Kong when the British had it, and it worked.

You’re assuming they’re that stupid.

More disturbing is the rational thought that more than a few of these wackos know exactly what they’re doing.

I’m of the opinion: anyone pushing minimum wage, UBI, etc should be compelled to watch the entire Primitive Technology and Survivor series. Follow up with the Townsends series. Idea is to ground thinking where food/housing/infrastructure begins: raw untamed land from which we elicit resources for survival and civilization. One soon discovers that specialization and trade - capitalism - is vital to achieving any living above bare sustenance ... and that anyone not producing enough hasn’t earned a “living wage”; charity is a thing, yes, and must be voluntary not compelled.

Yes they are happy about this.
Libs/progs DON’T CARE ABOUT PEOPLE, JUST CAUSES, now they have some additional “evidence” that corporations are evil greedy monsters and the way for people to respond is to “organize”.
Its like listening to these tools scream about a “living wage” of $15 an hour, then do everything they can do to kill pipeline or energy jobs that make more than that.
Because it has nothing to do with the PEOPLE who loose their jobs when the pipeline is shutdown, its about the CAUSE of “global warming/climate change/global cooling” etc.etc.
If the working people get destroyed because of their actions, too damned bad, your on the wrong side of the issue, but you can go get a shift job at McDonalds for $15 an hour instead of a 50k to 60k a year career without having a college degree.

Just despicable people all around.

The Minimum Wage should start at either ZERO or it should start at $1,000 an Hour. No, make that $10,000 an Hour.

Either basic Economics wins or Leftist Wet Dreams wins.

Yep. The only winners in the minimum wage increases are those that see the increase and don’t lose their jobs. And they only enjoy the increase until the economy catches up.

And really, they are not winners because the increase destroys their motivation to climb off the wage floor.

They might be intending to do what they've done. But they're still stupid. All of them. Single digit IQ is the primary criterion to belong to the cult of liberalism.

The solution is simple. Long Beach should go into the grocery business. I'm pretty sure there will be locations available for their stores. There will be employees willing to accept the higher pay.

What could possibly go wrong? David Hogg is probably available to run the operation now that he is out of the pillow business.

They should have offered grocery workers a “hero tax break.” They wouldn’t, of course.
