Infrastructure refers to tangible, physical improvements, which are required for the economy to work. Of all government expenditures, expenditures on actual infrastructure are usually the least problematic. Like all capital expenditures, there is something of value left to show for the expenditures.
OTOH, borrowing money to pay for new services — such as child-care services, etc. — can be a problem. When you already have over $26 T of government debt, borrowing to pay the operational costs of new services, is most certainly problematic.
AFAIK (I only know what I read in the MSM; so, I can’t be sure) the Dems have solved this problem — by the expediency of defining everything on their wish list as ‘infrastructure’. This is not going to end well.
Note the acceptance of corporate tax increase, as if that is acceptable and middle-class tax increases are worse. The fact is corporate taxes are not paid by corporations. They are paid by consumers who pay for products and services that have the tax increase built into the price. This affect all income levels, including the poorist of Americans. It makes American businesses less competitive and causes unemployment.
When the GOP leadership, including this traitor bitch, can't articulate simple facts we can't expect to win any battle involving tax and spending. The entire GOP establishment needs to deported to China.
