There you go, with facts ‘n stuff. That will never sell around here where the Beck & D’Souza comic book version of history reigns supreme.

That’s an excellent summation of Second Klan history btw. Thanks for sharing it.

You do know that there is zero evidence that William Fulbright ever belonged to the Klan, including in the link that you helpfully provided, right? Did you think that posting a link would magically make Fulbright a Klan member?

What’s your point, other than hoping to buttress your claim that Bill Clinton had “excused so many Democrats for belonging to the Klan”? He excused exactly one, Robert Byrd, as I pointed out in my first post.

The only additional name that you managed to produce was Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, who died when Clinton was still in college.

Since you didn’t produce a Bill Clinton quote excusing Black’s KKK membership I’m certain that you couldn’t find one. Unlike Robert Byrd, Bill Clinton didn’t personally know Hugo Black and would have no reason to defend him.

However Black’s one-time KKK membership was known to the eight Republican Senators who voted to confirm him to the Supreme Court in 1937. Maybe you’d have better luck finding some quotes by them explaining why it didn’t matter.

He was a segregationist.

You sticking up for his racist politics?

Joe Biden “reached across the aisle” (his term) to work with Segregationist Democrats in the 1970s in the Senate.

>>one-time KKK memberships

Like all of those “one time Communist Party” memberships

People are torn down these days for even the whiff of such scandal.

No one forced their hands. Their hearts and minds are evident.

Go on you and the others on this thread standing up for the Klan and New Democrat terrorist bombings well into the 1970s.

“People are torn down these days for even the whiff of such scandal.”

You know what people “get torn down for”? Making stuff up. You know, like your Klan claim that you’re having trouble with as soon as you’re asked to produce the evidence.

Pro tip: make sure that you have the facts instead of fabricating something that sounds good.
