I remember quite distinctly an article in the local paper that quoted the local fire department as saying: “We are looking to hire only women and minorities.”
I remember a letter of rejection from a major US corporation which is firmly emblazoned onto the retinas of my eyes containing these exact words: “We are not hiring now, but when we start hiring again we’ll be hiring blacks.”
I know with certainty that an agency of the local state government told the hiring manager of an important state institution in very clear terms, that the candidate chosen for the open post had to be a black.” I know the specific qualified White who was passed over for the position.
Where do I put in my claim for my White Privilege dividend?
My husband was by all indications a shoe-in for a promotion in the 1980’s, when the manager he reported to resigned to take another job. Instead, the promotion was given to a black gentleman, and everybody knew, even the man knew, why it was given to him. I worked there as well. We were a naval architecture firm with government contracts and expected to promote minorities. This was a quota promotion with DH report directly to this newly promoted manager. He didn’t take it well, found another job and left within a few weeks time of this happening. Best move he made in those days.
Racist and Sexist policies institutionalized.
Quotas.
Sounds like white men are the new witches. Is Cigna moving its headquarters to Salem?
Identify, Demonize, Isolate, Eliminate
This is the new white privilege. It’s a privilege to be a victim of discrimination and racism.
How long will it be until they decide not to insure white people?
It is not that big of a step from deciding not to hire them to deciding not to cover them.
CIGNA is a corporation incorporated in Connecticut so it governed by a whole host of federal, state, and local laws that private persons are not.
Furthermore Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 expressly prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has language to states explicitly that corporations are covered by the act:
For the purposes of this subchapter-
(a) The term "person" includes one or more individuals, governments, governmental agencies, political subdivisions, labor unions, partnerships, associations, corporations, legal representatives, mutual companies, joint-stock companies, trusts, unincorporated organizations, trustees, trustees in cases under Title 11 [originally, bankruptcy ], or receivers.
The left tries to have it both ways but the law is clear, this is patently illegal and CIGNA will be sued.
Start with the level below President first
This has been going on since the 1970’s

Title VI violation.
outstanding!
Racism is racism is racism—and all the huffing and puffing in the world will not change that simple fact.
If you are hiring based on race you are pursuing a racist policy.
my husband told me that where he worked, the minority females at HR Hated their black brothers.
Sounds unconstitutional to me.
I hope a few good lawyers put their butts through the wringer good and hard.
Eff them. Screw them to hell. Sick of this ****!
It is NOT a non story just because it’s been going on for awhile. You must not be white.
“Employees are also encouraged to avoid using certain terms — such as “brown bag lunch” and “no can do” — in order to make their speech more accommodating, inclusive, and positive.”
Let me axe you a question...
When will all these “woke” people wake up?
It goes back further than that. I was a victim in 1988 while applying for state jobs in Georgia. After a year, I got hired as a temp. The Colonel was swearing me in (Full time Guard), and he tried to make me switch race. From white of European descent to Hispanic. I refused not knowing why. When I reported to work, the warrant officer laughed. He said the state was under a white hiring freeze. And then he explained that’s why those tons of positions I’ve applied for went unanswered. Tis my awakening.
