1. PR says they don’t want to be a state.
2. The Senate will never approve.
leftist fascists do not care what anyone else wants, it's in their DNA
Yes, he is sloooow, but not slow enough not to see that advantage. But I don’t think he would refuse some financial incentive as well.
You need to be patient. This is breaking news...
IIRC “Commonwealth” won by a wide margin each time.
No, it’s not. The “breaking news” is that this thread is spam and should get yanked.
Guam might be OK...I’ve read that the citizens there are strongly conservative.
The Democrat Party most be worried about some Democrat Senators defecting to the Republican party. Got to create a bunch of new States.
“They are really scared of something.”
Not a matter of being scared. They are running the country. They have the political power and are taking advantage of it.
75 million plus said they didn't want Biden either and lookee lookee!
The question really will be what will the Republicans use for their reason to vote against statehood?
Violates international law. The UN considers Puerto Rico non-self-governing territory. They must be given opportunity for independence.
Republicans should say that statehood of Puerto Rico is on condition of their referendum. It has to pass 50%. Previous votes did not count because many Puerto Ricans did not vote.
Amazing how innovative that sounds, isn’t it?
we seemed to vociferously defend the crap that was spewing out of lin wood’s twitter account back in January.
Twitter is what it is.
Hmmmm, they are going to annex Puerto Rico?
Can The Sudetenland be far behind?
What was the turnout? Did anyone boycott?
Who's this "we" you're talking about? I certainly never did and specifically remember calling him a fraud and a charlatan.
I don't think they're worried about Senators defecting than they are about padding their majority. Admit Puerto Rico and D.C. and Schumer's majority becomes 4 seats rather than a tie and Pelosi picks up a couple of seats in the House.
No, it really isn’t. If even Schumer is saying this, there are probably quite a few Senate Democrats opposed to it. The $15 minimum wage hike had seven Democrats in the Senate vote against it. The Democrat’s Senate majority is literally 50-50, no way it has the votes. I honestly wonder if it even has the votes in the House right now.
