I wouldn’t trust a word that comes out of the Communist Chinese government about anything.
If they said the sky was blue, I would look with my own eyes to be sure.
Any government that will murder tens or hundreds of millions its own citizens to achieve political goals can be trusted to be capable of anything.
China and India both possess robust nuclear weapons. This is insane aggression by China. Does China not know India will use nuclear weapons in defense of their great nation.

Many American veterans of Korea thought the ChiComs could fight; they had it rough being thrown into the war with little preparation, and suffered horribly during the first winter - yet they succeeded in pushing the UN forces back. Fleeing American troops would watch ChiCom troops swarm over supplies we had abandoned and set afire, and they’d be scrambling for food even as munitions inside the heaps started to “cook off”.
It is believed more ChiCom troops died from freezing in the first winter of the war than combat...
They were ‘volunteers’.
I know, but forced men surrender much more easily than that (see Soviets in WWII).
