They’re just lazy and want any excuse not to go to work.
I compiled data from an anonymous survey for a local politician about 10 years ago. About 90% of the teachers who responded about job satisfaction, and who liked their jobs, said it’s the best job if you don’t want to work too much and get OK pay.
One can ultimately trace the problems of our current education system to the decision to pass its operation on to government and to public sector unions.
Institute some legitimate disciplinary actions to unruly kids. No reason schools should be warehouses Mon-Frid, from 8-4am
That being said, there are plenty of folks that could take those jobs.
And that’s the world all these ANTIFA kids want to live in. Work about 3-4 hours a week, as you said, have rad students do most of your work, get paid 6 figures with lots of time off.
Bkmk
Can’t teachers just wear masks? Or is it two masks now? Don’t the masks keep us safe?
Like any other employer, announce the schools are open. When a teacher fails to show up, provide a substitute and dock the teacher a day’s pay. After a following the appropriate disciplinary process — fire the teacher for chronic absenteeism and replace them with someone willing to work and who is not a coward — afraid of a respiratory ailment with a 99.99% recovery rate — and who doesn’t need a medical “protective talisman” — a face rag — to dehumanize themselves in front of the kids while they wait for a ritual mask to drive off the covid evil spirit.
That was pretty moronic. If they had used the right words for their acronym it would have said JEOKIS. Using a letter as a word just because it sounds like a word is ok if you want a 7-character license plate to say something that takes 10 letters. Otherwise, just spell the damn word out. It just makes the point that the kids need educating by professionals, because their parents can’t spell “our”.
Actually, the districts can blame the unions. The collective bargaining agreements have stipulations about healthy work environments, and the exaggeration of the dangers of COVID have given them an excuse to claim danger.
Week. Wonder if this is why the delay if more WuFlu money, especially to parents.
The concern that parents will use the money to homeschool/tutor their kid/s.
The teachers unions are untouchable. Only one answer, competition.
Yeah I know—I’ve attended SEVEN “reopen schools/sports” rallies so far, to no avail. We are now attempting to recall some of our board members. They can be voted out while the unions can’t be.
What’s going to happen next is what the Washington Post reported on yesterday—kids will start returning to classrooms, but with subs watching them do their remote distance learning on their laptops or with their teachers projected to the wall. Madness!
Next time you’re part of a group that is going against the establishment and get called out, you can make up any acronym you want. Till then, shut your pie hole
Most school districts signed MOUs with the unions back in March 2020 that said no teacher could be required to return who "felt unsafe".
I'm a COVID doctor. COVID is real, real people die from it, and it's much worse than flu.
But.
The Great Fear is another matter altogether.
There's no question it was concocted to "get Trump".
OK, now, they got him, and, like a dog who finally catches the car, they don't know what to do.
