2. The U.N.'s Arms Trade Treaty went into effect in 2014 and currently has 130 signatories. Though POTUS #45 DJT essentially mothballed it on his watch, the U.S. Senate never voted on it - has to have 67 votes for ratification. I expect Biden to bring it back for Senate ratification (whether he has the votes is another matter). The NRA in July 2012 stated that:
"Anti-gun treaty proponents continue to mislead the public, claiming the treaty would have no impact on American gun owners. This is a bald-faced lie. For example, the most recent draft treaty includes export/import controls that would require officials in an importing country to collect information on the "end user" of a firearm, keep the information for 20 years, and provide the information to the country from which the gun was exported. In other words, if you bought a Beretta Shotgun, you would be an "end user" and the U.S. government would have to keep a record of you and notify the Italian government about your purchase. That is gun registration. If the U.S. refuses to implement this data collection on law-abiding American gun owners, other nations might be required to ban the export of firearms to the U.S."

Given the sea change we saw in 2020 regarding the rule of law in the USSA, I fully expect Biden to try it again.
It did not really matter, by then there were millions of AKs available in the USA anyway. I would guess we have between 600 and 900 million weapons in the United States at this point. Everything from pistols to hunting rifles. The feds have no idea how many weapons are out there and they do not know who has them. How many men inherited numerous functioning rifles and pistols going back generations? How many weapons have been sold or traded between individuals in private transactions. ... This is the only thing that stands between us and tyranny right now. The only thing that stands between the RATS having total control of this country.
1. Under Biden, I expect to see a push for universal background checks on all firearm transfers. This will involve a FFL dealer filing an ATF Form 4473 on all private transfers.
2. I expect Biden to push for repeal of the 1986 FOPA which prohibits Fedzilla from using ATF 4473 records (dating back to 1968) to construct a national firearms registry.
3. The game is about controlling semi-auto rifles & shotguns. That is what the DemonRat Socialists fear the most - armed rebellion with semi-autos.
4. They don't need to have owners voluntarily register or surrender these semi-autos, though that would be ideal. And we are in agreement that most owners will not do it voluntarily. NY & CT tried it in 2013 and it failed miserably.
5. I argue that in their minds any confiscation of semi-autos is a victory.

To that end, I can imagine the DemonRats (a) building a national firearm registry using ATF 4473s, (b) requiring all semi-auto owners to register or surrender those weapons at designated depots by a drop-dead date, (c) after such date passes, authorize the IRS to levy financial penalties on those known to be in non-compliance (few will be able to withstand that kind of pressure) with the expectation that the greatest success will be achieved against ATF 4473s filed within, say, the last 10 years, (d) door-2-door LEO confiscations would be minimized and reserved for those high-profile cases to set an example to terrorize the sheeple.
Under our new rulers, where the rule of law no longer applies, I can envision them putting the burden of proof of non-ownership on the citizen. Should all of this come down from Fedzilla, R2KABA defenders will have precious little time to organize resistance. Welcome to 1984.
I am not disagreeing with any of what you posted. I guess what I am saying is that of the hundreds of million firearms out there, the Feds 4473 on file will, if they are lucky, allow them to track maybe 75% of the weapons sold since 2000. I have repeatedly said never talk to a Fed without a lawyer. What can the Feds do if my lawyer tells them “ my client no longer possess that firearm.” The RATS hate the fact firearms are legally transferred in private transactions with no 4473 to track them.
