OK here’s what really happened. According to Patrick Byrne who was in the oval office meeting for 5 hours the President told Sydney Powell he was going to name her special prosecutor. Then the next day when she called about her security clearance and an office Mark Meadows said that he couldn’t make that happen. So basically the Whitehouse team is just countermanding Trump’s wishes and trying to let the clock run out so they can all move on.
For a model of what will happen to Sidney Powell should the coup against Trump be successful, look at what the Left did to Joseph McCarthy. Joseph McCarthy was a Patriot, and purchased us at least a couple of decades of breathing room which we squandered.
And they made damn sure his reputation died with him. They slandered him, the worst human being alive, propagated it through all news, entertainment, education at all levels, literature, you name it.
There is a phrase: Carthagio delenda est”, which translates to “Carthage must be destroyed”.
In McCarthy’s case, it became “McCarthy delenda est”.
They had to destroy McCarthy for eternity and salt his grave with the lessons of “McCarthyism” in schools and colleges, references to it in books and movies, and indoctrinate generations with the propaganda that he was a very bad man indeed.
They did the same thing with Nixon.
And they will do the same thing with Trump if he cannot find a way to make this election right. And the Left will do it with the willing assistance of the same kind of people they murdered the reputation of all those such as McCarthy and Nixon with, including many who frequent this forum.
And the same with Sidney Powell.
Sidney Powell is a serious person who has had seen a lot of information which has been collected and presented to her which shows overwhelming fraud. She is right to think it is as earthshaking as it is.
What is abnormal and indicative of a frog in hot water is that there are still people who doubt what she has seen exists, don’t think it is important, and go right along with painting this remarkable person as a self-interested fame-grifting attention whore that the Left including the entire media is gleefully sowing.
She is a Patriot, pulling out every stop she can, because the future of this Republic damn well needs someone pulling out all the plugs that can be pulled out. People can agree or disagree with her characterization of the fraud she has seen, but her treatment by the very people who should be sending her money, never mind pulling with all their might for her to succeed is...shameful.

William F. Buckley tried to get Whittaker to start National Review magazine with him. Whitter declined saying that his history was to much of a liability.

I think that what was done to McCarthy (and Chambers too) was shameful. He should be remembered as an American and Patriot who gave his life and reputation for his country.

The posters who complain about Guiliani, et. al., ignore the extreme corruption of the judiciary, through blackmail, bribery, or intimidation, the last of which was evident in Chief Justice Roberts' remarks about riots before denying the Texas claim. Additionally, prestigious lawyers who worked for Trump have been intimidated and resigned for fear of being blackballed or disbarred.
I pray that Trump can pull off a victory by some method. Otherwise, finis America.

I was one of those people who, for most of my life, just accepted what I was taught and told about McCarthy. Why would they all lie to me?
Boy, it was a real eyeopener for me when I scratched the surface on this subject. Best book I ever read on the subject, by far, was “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies”.
It was so good and valuable that not only did I get a hardcover, audio, and Kindle version, but resolved to write the author, M. Stanton Evans, a letter of gratitude for writing it, but he passed on before I got around to it.
As for “Witness”, you can see from my Freep Page how I feel about him...:)
His grandson sent me a few polite “cease and desist” emails because I was displaying a copy of Chambers’ letter to his children. He was very decent and I tried, but it was back in the day where the workings of hosting a page were still somewhat mysterious to me, and after I deleted it, it kept reappearing...
Made me feel somewhat like a dunce...:)
I hope all the Leftnick media mob and their anti-Trump sidekicks believe this anti-Powell tripe. If it’s President Trump’s pursuit of the truth, what Sidney Powell brings to the table is icing on the cake. The Dominion machine fraud is the mother lode of of the DemonKKKrats’ plan to steal the 2020 Election. The fury that is whipped up is proof that the spotlight of truth is over the target. Powell’s evidence will rip the Dems to shreds.
McCarthy's failing was his alcoholism.

This was discussed in the book, and the author indicated IIRC that his alcohol use was NOT a driver of his behavior until after the Army-McCarthy hearings in 1954, after which he was unfairly censured and stripped of his committee privileges, coupled with the non-stop demonization of him by the Left and their compliant (even as today) media elements.
As M. Stanton Evans (who did more original research than any other reporter on McCarthy) and also was a cub reporter when this was all going on in real time back in 1950-1954)
I believe his enemies drove him to his death. They will no doubt attempt to do the same to Donald Trump, and in his death, will attempt to treat him and dismiss him in the same fashion.
If we let them.
