True enough I suppose but I have a hard time seeing how the survivors are actually better off in any meaningful way than the corpses. I have experienced seventy six years of life on Earth, some of it was as close to heaven as I can imagine and some of it made me wish that I could just go to sleep and not wake up with most of it being somewhere between those two extremes. I suspect that the survivors you describe will have many thoughts of how nice it would be to just not wake up the next morning.
Better to wait for the midnight knocks at the door?
