Pardon the Barbra Streisand bit in the first while, lol. Thought that people here would like to take a look back at some very interesting and rare colour videotape footage from NBC programming when colour TV sets were a very expensive thing to have in one's home. I wonder if the full programs of these shows still exist as I find the 1964 Jason Robards feature "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" likely worth a look, as well as the 1962 Julie Andrews "My Fair Lady". The music features would also be nice to see.
Anyone here have memories of these?

I remember going to an aunt’s house to watch Man from UNCLE in color. By the time Star Trek premiered, my family had a color set too.

It was 1968 or 69 when we got a color tv set. It was a Magnavox with the round screen. Dad got it from the repair man for a good price. The picture tube was blown as someone had put a hole in it. Dad paid for the new picture tube, the new parts needed and a kick to the technician. It was awesome, and had a great picture. The first movie we watched was The Bridge on the River Kwai. Saturday Night at the Movies, hosted by Donald Rickles....not the comedian.

I have a 42” flat screen tv and I watch a lot of b/w movies and tv shows from the old days. The new shows have terrible writing and the acting is not as good.
