I suspect it is because they are taking two paths. One with Powell and her team and the other with Ellis and her team. Ellis’ group officially represents the President and Powell represents...?? herself? a group of voters? Or maybe some poll watchers. I’m not sure. But, Powell is an intelligent lady, and the President is an smart man, so I’m sure there is some type of plan here. For them to release this statement shows some type of coordinated plan.

It comes across as a public disavowal of Sidney Powell.
It should have been worded to address specific statements the campaign wanted to distance itself from while complimenting her on her capability and dedication.
