The clearly defined “Damascus” wipe-out prophesy is very very near...
I personally believe it is possible, this “Damascus wipe out” somehow happens near (or possibly just before - could be related to/or be part of an event connected to the “hook in the jaw” of Meshek), or in conjunction with a “proximal-in-time” beginning of Daniels 70th Week attack, probably (and explosively) defined in Ezekiel 38-39.
My potentially flawed reasoning revolves around the Ezekiel 38-39 context and clear descriptive language. Many theologans have traditionally taught the Ezekiel 38-39 text to be Armageddon.
However, an attack by Meshek from Gog (from the *far* north, [from Genesis migrated north of the Black Sea]), on “The Antichrist”, or “The Man of Lawlessness” (ruling the world from Jerusalem, and from a NEW temple in Jerusalem), is not described at all in the Ezekiel 38-39 text. Nor is the name or term “Valley of Megiddo”.
Conversely, the many clearly defined “Armageddon texts” don’t refer to Meshek-Gog/Magog/Tubal/Gomer/Egypt/Libya/Persia/Ethiopia (and “all their tribes and bands”). The various Armageddon texts, refer to Antichrist and his armies meeting the “kings of the east” with their 200 Million Man Army, marching across the dried up Euphrates River, (which in Revelation is to be dried up by a specific judgement of extreme heat poured out by God on the earth) and will “make way for the Kings of the East”.
This language and description is not at all spoken of in the Ezekiel 38-39 text.
The valley spoken of in the Ezekiel 38-39 text, is specifically defined as “Valley of Haman Gog” (as Gog and all his hordes will be buried there), and Israel will literally employ people to find, tag, and bury their bodies for seven months! *And Israel will burn their weapons for fuel, for SEVEN YEARS!
The description of Israel birthing bodies for seven months, burning weapons for fuel is not in any description following Armageddon. In fact, Armageddon is followed by Christ descending from Heaven, touching His foot on the Mount of Olives, an earthquake which flattens the mountains of the world and causes the islands to “flee away”, Jerusalem being elevated above the earth, and Christ and His Temple resting there! If anything, those hills of “Hammon Gog” (place of the dead), are likely flattened out!
As you know, the Armageddon texts specifically refer to an event happening after the “Abomination of Desolation” (after a 7 year “pact with death” between Israel and Antichrist is violated 3.5 years into “Daniels Seventieth Week”, after The Anti-Christ sets himself up in a CURRENTLY NON-EXISTENT TEMPLE, declaring himself god, and demanding all of Israel and the world now down and worship him).
Additionally, Meshek cannot be The Anti-Christ because Meshek and his coalition attacking Israel is totally wiped out!
However, from a human perspective, this Ezekiel 38-39 Gog coalition war on Israel is so big, it will reshape global geographic boundaries, and certainly cause global political realignment! Likely enabling who is to be the Antichrist to “divide/distribute the kingdoms for a price”.
Also, at no point do we see a description of Israel **while under the protection of The Anti-Christ**, being so afraid of the attack from a “Gog coalition”, they cry out for God to save them, because there was literally no way to survive the attack!
What we do see is the Antichrist breaking his 7 year treaty with Israel, and slaughtering 2/3rds of them (Zachariah 12)
I certainly could be wrong, but it seems what we are really seeing described in Ezekiel 38-39, may well be the “kick off”, or “near kick off” of the 7 Year Tribulation.
IF I am remotely correct, Scripture is not describing a single kinetic WWIII at Armageddon. Scripture is describing at least TWO World Wars!
One to *kick off* Daniels Seventieth Week (Jacobs Trouble), and one at the end of Daniels Seventieth Week!
