And even though he died, he seems to be reincarnated again and again...

I’m related to a Cuban family that was involved in the revolution. They confirmed that Che was a blood thirsty bastard that Fidel became disgusted with. Fidel wanted him out of Cuba, knowing he was a psycho who could screw up anything.
A female relative drove Herbert Matthews to see Castro in the mountains. The importance of that relationship is well documented in the article.
Some of the members of the family were pro Castro at the beginning of the revolution, thinking he would bring democracy to the island. Others accepted Batista and even served in the military. About 3 years after the overthrow of Batista, all these relatives had left.

I hI had a guy tell me that Che was a freedom fighter. I would have then quoted George Carlin:
"If crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight?"

A couple of years ago, I went on a weekend thing with my wife, her sister and her sisters son.
Nice kid, art major, but like many kids, kind of clueless about certain things. We were going out to eat one night, and he comes down wearing a Che shirt.
We had the following conversation:
- ME: Do you know who that guy is on your shirt?
- NEPHEW:Ummm...hes a revolutionary guy?
- ME: Yeah. That's right. Do you know what kind of revolutionary guy?
- NEPHEW: Umm...no.
- ME: It was his job to have people who disagreed with Castro dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night and murdered in front of their families, and then the families were sometimes murdered. This guy was the one who did it.
- NEPHEW: Um...I just kind of like the shirt.
- ME: Ah.
My wife didnt give me the evil eye because she understood my point, but I am the mean conservative in my wifes family. My mother-in-law used to goad me once in a while (she was EXTREMELY liberal) but when I made it known that I would express my views regardless of the company, she stopped.
I dont talk politics around people whose politics I am unsure of because I do believe it is rude to do so, but if someone brings it up first, Im not going to just sit there.

I take the joyfull warrior approach w young heads of mush when they initiate on these topics. “Ok, I’m happy to discuss with you. Here is what will happen tho. At some point my logic, facts and reason will overwhelm your emotional conclusions such that you storm off swearing and calling me names” Usually thats all it takes.

Im torn between Che and Mao as to which was the bigger dirtbag. At least Hitler could give a speech and Stalin was tough but those first two were just lazy psychopaths.

Well, Stalin was slightly less lazy, if only because he personally enjoyed wielding his power onto others and killing them, while Hitler delegated to his generals far more than he was actually willing to personally wield power.

But yeah, Mao and Che were definitely much bigger scumbags than Stalin or Hitler (though I’d argue Lenin might actually rival those two in cruelty).
