Someone who is with you 50% of the time is better than someone who is with you 0% of the time. Those are your choices, Maine. Vote Collins.
I live in Maine’s 2nd Congressional district.
In area, it’s the largest congressional district east of the Mississippi....27,000 square miles.
It is STRONG Second Amendment country. We have Conceal Carry, Constitutional Carry, etc. Even switch blades were made legal in 2015.
Michael Bloomturd bankrolled a ballot initiative in 2016 which would have ended the private sale of firearms in Maine. Despite all his money, Bloomturd lost.
Collins received 67% of the vote in 2014. Now, the democrats are out for blood because of Collin’s vote for Brett Kavanaugh.
There are ENDLESS commercials on radio and TV, many of them negative. Collins’ people are fighting back against the dem challenger, Maine House Speaker Sarah Gideon. Gideon is a far leftist with a voice like AOC. Susan Collins looks like Sarah Palin in comparison, which of course she is not.
About $55 million is being spent on the Maine Senate race, much of it from out of state.
Collins voted for the overwhelming majority of the president’s judicial picks. Collins also voted for the president’s tax cuts. A dem would have been a no vote on all of the above.
President Trump will win the 2nd district this year, for one electoral vote. He may even carry the whole state this time...who knows. Maine was a blue state but has been trending purple in recent years.
The First congressional district....20% of Maine in the southeast corner of the state.....is more liberal....north Massachusetts, as some people here call it....skews the vote total in statewide elections.
I’m voting for Collins because she is light years better than her left-wing challenger, Maine House Speaker Sarah Gideon.
Plus, I want the GOP to keep the Senate.
By the way, I live in Maine.
So Collins squeaks by, Tillis wins, GOP keeps the Senate and we avoid the end of America.
Good deal! It is imperative to keep Schumer out of power.
Maine has been trending purple in recent years.
The democrat controlled Maine House and the (then) GOP controlled Maine Senate passed Constitutional Carry in 2015. The same bill legalized switch blades. Many red states don’t have Constitutional Carry.
The 2nd district here in Maine....80% of the state....was carried by Trump by 10 points in 2016, which netted him one electoral vote. Pickles Clinton carried the more liberal 1st district, 20% of Maine’s land mass in the southeast corner of the state. Madame Hillary won the statewide popular vote by 2.9%. If candidate Trump had advertised more here, he may have carried the whole state.
The 1st district is more like Massachusetts....it’s not far away in a geographical sense.
The 2nd district is more conservative...Second Amendment country, although we have our pockets of liberals, mostly near the coast.
Yes.
The US Senate is every bit as important as winning the presidency. The House not so much. They can keep impeaching all day all night in the House. It won't amount to a can of beans.
I think Collins is going to win. It looks like she’s at 46% through round 2 of rank choice, so with her resources and campaign structure likely wins.
What’s puzzling are the CD-2 numbers. Trump is probably a bit higher than the 49% this poll has him a in round 1. But how the heck did Dale Crafts down 18 to a guy that voted to impeach the President? Crafts better tie himself to Trump asap.
