He’s aware that zero emission vehicles run on electricity, right?
He’s aware that he’s significantly increasing the amount of electricity used by his state, right?
He’s aware that his state doesn’t have enough electricity capacity to manage the demand TODAY, right?
He’s aware that this mandate will force either: building of new power plants OR that people will have electric cars in their driveways that can’t be charged up, right?
He’s aware that people with uncharged cars - and no other way to get around - will not be able to go anywhere...
Oh, that’s the point right there isn’t it.
Once again, the RAT infested leadership of California has demonstrated the state’s uselessness, with the exception of taking profit from real estate speculation and other forms of business not necessarily requiring a residency or corporate domicile— as shown by BOA etc... It’s a nice place to milk cash from the state’s ample supply of morons, but a lousy place for a conservative to inhabit.
She’ll have fun, fun, fun, til Gavin takes her T-Bird away!
Hmmmm...I didn't realize cars were the cause of wildfires.
Also, to those of you who write off California or the U.S., know that when California goes, so goes the U.S.A., and when the U.S.A. goes, so goes the world. The fight needs to be brought to California and there is no where to run when the Marxists plans come to fruition.
So. They have electricity shortages, and the answer is to make ALL ground transportation use electricity.
They know something. They know tyranny is coming and we won’t be allowed to travel.
Newsom is attacking the “problem” of “California warming”. With China and India building dozens of new coal-fired power plants, Newsom’s diktat will not address GLOBAL warming.
We have fracking in CA. who knew?? I live here and these ASSHATS wont even manage the forests because of environmental WAKOS I am quite sure there is no fracking here already!!
As if CARB was not heavy-handed enough.
Where else does a gubmint agency set up exhaust sniffers on freeway on ramps to sniff out smog equipment violators.
Result: Used car sales will boom so much that California dealers will be importing used cars from other states.
Note to Newsome: The auto industries in California for re-supplying and repairs to used cars is one of the largest in the country, and with his “Green” executive order will continue to grow and become an even bigger part of the California economy.
And then we’ll see a mandate restricting the use of electrical power produced in the state to government use only in order to recharge its electric vehicles, while Californians can sit in the dark and cook their food over open fires in their back yards. Of course, they will then be fined for open burning.
Come 2035, a mere 15 years from now California will still have 90%+ of all vehicles running on gas, and farmers will still be driving those old diesel trucks to the cannery.
And the CA legislature and governor will suddenly change their minds again.
I hope he does have the authority! CA already has a case of the shorts when it comes to electric power. The blackouts have proved this fact. Solar power is useless after the sun goes down, and most electric vehicle owners will want to recharge while they are at home asleep. So where will Newsom get the kilowatts needed? He certainly isn’t the brightest light bulb on the Christmas tree.
Drivers of gas powered vehicles visiting the state will pay significant fines and fees upon entry and will be issued magnetic “Gross Polluter” placards which must be display on the vehicle while in the state.
Wheres he gonna get the electricity to run these things? How about $billions for additional electrical infrastructure? I doubt these and other requirements have been considered.
Serious question: Is he retarded?
kalifornia will be traveling on donkeys and horses by then, there will be nothing left of the state at this rate.
We’re going to have to invade that state, hang the leaders, and send in missionaries to convert the people to Christianity. Or else, we’re going to have Chinafornia in our back yard.
More wackiness from Kalifornia. I can't imagine this can survive judicial scrutiny, but in the Ninth Circuit, who knows.
Tenth Amendment? I didn't vote for Nuisance but states do have the right to pass whatever wacky laws they want, provided it stays within their borders. The state equivalent of being allowed to stick your arm out until it hits someone else's nose. I don't see how you can make the case that this new Californian law hurts non-Californians.
