Trump’s list had Paul Clement on it. He was the lawyer who was going to represent our side in DOMA. The big law firm he worked for caved to the LGBT lobby. He resigned on principal that very day.
He has to. The republic can not afford an election dispute and then a 4-4 tie in the Supreme Court. Trump and the republicans must nominate and confirm a justice to avoid this. The country demands it. Mitch better whip the senate in line with that argument. We can not face a 4-4 tie on a Michigan or pa election ballot dispute. It will be civil war. Currently, the Republicans are appealing the Michigan and PA decision To allow vote counting to continue after Election Day. The republic deserves a decision on that, not a tie. Republicans need to man up.

Heres hoping any decision needing appealed to the Supreme Court comes from the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals (Michigan case) and not the much less reliable 3rd CCA (Pennsylvania case).
May have already been reported but I just heard that Murkowski is not willing to vote until after the election. Add +1 to the Dem column. And then figure out how we can bribe Senator Collins.
I may be wrong, but I don’t think there are recess appt’s by the President; the Court remains one person short until a new judge is chosen. So the Supreme Court will be down one liberal judge, and I believe they still decide cases even if one judge is missing. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
I suppose the SCOTUS could delay making decisions until they have a full bench again, and most cases that are taken now unless an emergency case (like an election law case) won’t be decided until next June. It’s the emergency petitions to the Court regarding the election that would have to be decided by the Court minus one liberal judge (unless they prop Ginsburg up on the bench like Weekend at Bernie’s.
Trump already knows, and plans are being made in the background this very minute. The ball is rolling. Get out your popcorn. You won’t be hearing much now about the coronavirus. It’s going to be all SCOTUS all the time now, lol. Sleepy Joe Biden must be in a total tither, as he has built his campaign mostly around Trump and the virus. No more. SCOTUS has pushed the virus right off of the public stage. Fun times ahead.
Collins is losing because she is not supporting Trump. This is her opportunity to make amends.
Not Guilty!
Hope he or she is better than Gorsuch.
Joe would probably nominate Holder, Hillary, Bernie, AOC, Warren, Rice, Juan Williams, Harff, Tarlov, Bream or Donna Brazile.
Of course it will have to be a woman.
Trump will probably nominate Amy Coney Barrett.
It’s going get really raucous in DC in the coming days and weeks. Battles on many different fronts over many different issues with many having to do with Ginbergs replacement and who gets to vote and when and so on. Lay in more popcorn and drinks and settle back into your easy chair. Oh and pick up some extra batteries for your remote as channel surfing will be at its highest level in years. Buckle up cowboy.
Whoooohooooo!
Pray for President Trump that he will knock this one out of the park.
Trump and the current senate have 3 more months in office. Plenty of time to confirm a nominee.
Remember, the Democrats rammed though ObamaCare in a “lame duck” session after an election.
I bet the Senate takes their sweet time.
its critical to fill this slot before the election, or otherwise it will motivate leftists to vote in droves ...
Due to COVID, there must be no funeral.
Man, i wish I had more shelf stable food.
This is going to be a very, very, hot fall
BREAKING: A high-level Romney insider tells me Mitt Romney has committed to not confirming a Supreme Court nominee until after Inauguration Day 2021.
Talk about a firestorm...lol!!!
Cruz said he doesn’t want to be on the USSC.
Row well and live.
Mitt Romney, Collins and the bitch Murkowski will not vote for anyone till after the election. Linda Graham,,who chairs the Judiciary Committee, said in 2018 he would not move on a Supreme Court pick if it was a couple months before the election.
