The huge problem in science/medicine is postmodern science and medicine. The old, (reproducable and built upon logically), scientific method is abandoned as patriarchal. It is replaced by intuitive theories and consensus and worse.
It used to be worth reading.
It jumped the shark back in the 1980s when it claimed with certainty that Reagan deploying Pershing missiles to Europe would lead to nuclear war. I must have slept through that nuclear holocaust because I don’t remember it.
The magazine has been down hill ever since !
There is no justification for politicization of science.
Scientific American is not a scientific journal but rather a magazine of “popular science”. Every year for the past 20 years it has become more and more political. It’s finally reached the point where a large portion of every issue openly pushes a blatantly far left agenda.
