It's not because the fans do not want justice. The love of justice--like the love of truth--is a universal and inherent human quality.
It's because they're appalled that privileged men, earning millions of dollars to play ball, who live in unimaginable luxury, and who have every advantage, should have the gall to deprecate the sacred nation to which they should give thanks for all their privileges and advantages.
Those who booed probably saw injustice--not justice--in their deprecation: injustice in their disrespect for the fans who support them, most of whom have far less advantages, and the nation that makes it all possible.
I say this with respect to Gayle King, whom I admire.
Any American who continues to watch pro sports, is an accomplice to this.
You definitely have a point. The college and university athletic programs that supply the athletes to pro sports before they even graduate need to go out of business, too. What a farce. I saw it years and years ago first hand.

A lot of “professional” players could face the prospect of actually working to put food on the table. Let ‘em eat cake.
Wonder how the ratings are for the NBA. I’m one of those who bluster, say I won’t watch, then get sucked back in. But in the NBA’s case, I haven’t watched a second since they came back and tend to forget they’ve even been playing. Wonder if that’s just a local thing (Cavs never came back) or if it’s playing out nationally.
NBA is a bunch of thugs one paycheck away from a felony conviction. I don’t watch them.
