Our Sunni/Saudi government decided to overthrow Assad so we created a sunni Syrian rebel movement and armed and equipped them. They instantly morphed into ISIS and became a Frankenstein monster created by us that now we had to deal with.
But we never stopped trying to remove Assad and install a Sunni wahabbist government.
Russia has had an alliance with Syria since the early 1970s.
We did nothing to stop ISIS as they mass murder Christians and destroyed treasures of antiquity.
Russia started bombing the snot out of ISIS, so we harassed them all we could in the air. We attacked “ISIS” and continued to pretend that OUR wahabbist rebels needed protection from the Syrian government. So now we constantly bump elbows with Russia and it’s all on behalf of the damned Saudis.
We need to get outta there. We haven’t been right since we created the whole movement.

What would Patton do? General Patton had he been left alone would have driven the goddamn communist scourge all the way into the Pacific Ocean! He would have saved the world 80 years of pain and suffering under communism and socialism! Not that I have any strong opinions about your question.
Just being fair as I say this but Russia and Syria are allies and the Russians are living up to their part of that alliance.
Hopefully they will drive out the Turkish Invaders who are trying to reconstitute the Ottoman Empire.
