How about if we scrap the political nonsense and start looking at this virus through a public health lens?

Yesterday the CA tyrannical governor announced that San Diego county has been “removed from the watchlist.” Today he announced that SF County will be removed Thurs.
That’s a lot of population—so making progress—when off the watchlist for 14 consecutive days schools in that county can reopen. Public schools still won’t, of course, due to the teachers’ unions, but my daughter’s private school is ready to pivot to open the minute they get the OK.
We will. Come Nov. 4th. Until then, politics and not science is the order of the day.
There is no “exit strategy”. This goes on, and gets much, much worse after Trump is re-elected on Nov 3, and it spreads across the country.

Early on in this pandemic, on this very forum, I clashed with one of the FearBros when crazy numbers like 80% infection rate were being thrown around. IIRC, the rate during the Spanish Flu was about 25%, in line with what they’re talking about now. I asked the poster to name one virus since the Middle Ages that had that kind of infection rate (the Black Death wasn’t even a virus) and of course no one could but it didn’t matter. This is a Chinese bio weapon you know!

I’m gonna call my granddaughter and ask her if her Covid patients have survived and how many new cases she has....she’s an RN for a hospital here in Texas. This is crap! I guess I can tell you now, our grandson got married in July and Hub and I who are high risk contemplated not going because of this VIRUS.......well we decided to go come hell or high water and if we were destined to die, we were ready and if we got it and died it would have been worth it. Guess what former sports fans? We went fully intending to wear masks but Hub said when we got there, NO we’re NOT wearing masks. Folks, there were over 200 UN-masked guests there and NO ONE has reported getting sick!! I truly believe God himself was in that wedding OR like I’ve thought this is a farce from the leftists to kill our economy and defeat our President! I know there is a killer virus out there but we need to protect the ones who need protecting......the elderly, the ones with extreme preexisting conditions and we all know that. OPEN our country and our schools and do it NOW. We aren’t idiots and we don’t need a garden gnome and a scarfette telling us what to do!!! Dr. Atlas is who I’ve listened to since the beginning and I’m glad he’s the go-to man for the President.
The exit strategy is to elect Senile Joe.

I keep asking, how does this end? National Throw Your Mask Away Day?
When I’m with someone who’s wearing a mask (and I’m pretty sure they won’t slug me), I ask something like “When will you have the courage to not wear it”
I’ve heard ‘when there’s a vaccine’, ‘when we defeat it’, and the ever-popular ‘I don’t know’.
And that is the rub. I like to say ‘Oh, I think after a year, two tops, we should be okay...’ and watch their eyes widen.
So where is our exit strategy?

Actually there is a solution to this epidemic and it is provided by Mother Nature (or Gaeia if you swing that way). The components of the solution are twisted hemp and a sturdy tree limb.

I wish a group with large numbers would set it and campaign for it. Have a good reason for the chosen date. We need to coordinate.
