Thanks for the info. How many times was that Poeville area reburned with low intensity prescribed fire in the past 21 years? I set my own fires here in the east but with just five acres I can't do many experiments, and I have no dry season. I look at California where over four million acres burned annually before 1800. Much of that was natives and prescribed, although it's not clear how much, but a lot was low intensity. Now we see only catastrophic fire there, just 250k acres treated by the feds and hardly any by the state.
