As Mark Steyn said on Tucker tonight, the Republican drive to make Juneteenth a national holiday will obliterate the Fourth of July

Senate Republicans are not defenders of America

Senate Republicans are mostly on the other side.

Juneteenth was only ever a thing in Texas.

Juneteeth IS a Texas tradition since 1866.
It should remain a Texas Holiday!
IMHO

These dumbasses don’t realize that if it weren’t for July 4th their black asses would still be in servitude.

Truman Day is a commemorative holiday to celebrate the birth of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States. It is celebrated May 8 in Missouri as a state holiday.

It’s just for Missourians, no need to push it onto the rest of the country for political purposes.

Agreed. Do not give one inch to these pathetic absurd jackasses.

“Affectionately”? How about “STUPIDLY called ‘Juneteenth’”.

“As history wrote it, Juneteenth (June 19th, 1865, 1866) is the day that marked the end of slavery for all slaves, or the day slaves were told they were free.”

No. This, historically, was the day the last slaves were freed in the Confederate States of America. Do not attempt to look up this reference to “Confederate States of America” in history books. Those references were removed some time back.

Slaves in the United States of America were held in - well, held in slavery - until sometime later.

At some point in the last three weeks, Microsoft updated my Outlook 2016 Calendar to show Juneteenth as a holiday. I permanently deleted them.

Women couldn’t vote till 1920. Look for feminists to call for an appropriate superseding holiday.

Question for you - Have you considered having your at least half of your comments be attacks on DemocRATS and DemocRAT ideas? The great bulk of your comments seem to be attacks on, snark about and/or attempts to demoralize Republicans. You’re not a troll by any chance are you?

I’ll have to keep an eye out to see if I’m mistaken...or NOT mistaken.

I’m glad Tucker Carlson called out those two “conservative” bozos who are pushing to make “Juneteenth” a holiday and get rid of Columbus Day. If this happens, it will be seen as a major victory for Antifa/BLM.

And they won’t be satisfied. They will then demand that May Day be made a national holiday.

If the American Colonies had remained a part of the British Empire, they would have been freed in 1833.

The great bulk of your comments seem to be attacks on, snark about and/or attempts to demoralize Republicans.

Nothing is more demoralizing to Republican voters than to see their champions go back on their promises once they are elected and safely in office. And it is especially aggravating to see "conservatives" from solid Red states like Oklahoma and Indiana supinely caving in to the demands of the Marxist Left. As the country-western singer Jim Nesbitt has noted,

They'll promise you this, promise you that,
But when they get in, they'll leave you flat.
Won't even know you.
