Many have not had a good education about the science of masks vs virus. The virus has to be transported by the mist of water droplets as they are propelled by the outflow of the breathing process. The virus needs this water moisture to keep its out ecoplasm This outflow of virus laden droplets increases in volume whenever it is a sneeze or a cough. Even normal conversation increases the volume. People with pronounced words in their language will trigger greater volumes of mist. Latinos with their multiple repetition of the R sound are an example. The main thing to remember is because these droplets are bigger than the weave of the mask they are stopped by the fibers of a mask. Some of these masks even have a electrostatic property that causes these droplets to be attracted to these special fibers.
The virus decomposes when that protective droplet evaporates exposing the fatty outside layer of the virus. That is why a hot day causes airborne droplets to evaporate rapidly, destroying the virus. I hope the heat of the summer puts the virus on a hot tin roof.
Bullsh*t. Very few in rural Tennessee wear masks.
Exactly...women and many businesses have made masks fashion accessories. There is a profit motive at work here, as well.
You were being too harsh. Masks are not as effective to protect from infection. You have a 70% chance of being infected from a contagious person not wearing a mask. If you were contagious, and wore a mask, your chances of infecting another person goes down to a 5% chance. So, if you and another person both wear masks and you were infected, another person’s chance of getting infected by you go down to only 1.5%. If you were a gambler, you would want the croupier to be honest too.

You failed to consider, that since the virus is enclosed in water droplets that are larger then the weave of he mask fabric, they the will not transport the virus past the fibers of the mask. You are confused about the properties of a fart that will move with the speed of sound through a silk trouser with a 400 count weave.
Without that, a face "covering" is foolish as far as effective protection goes. Even an N95, which the vast majority do not wear, only protects 95% of non aerosolized virus particles for 2/3rd's of the main routes of infection. Virus alone, zero effectiveness because it can not filter out the ~0.2 micron sized virus.
The Euro weenies are beating us on this issue because they didn't politicize the virus to the extent we have.
No proper eye protection in addition, your fooling yourself.

Judy Mikovits’ connection with reality makes me believe she has a drug problem. She even said this utter lunacy:

“Coronavirus expressions?” The science is not there about the mask activating viruses. NONE!
You wear a mask to (mainly) protect others. There’s nothing brave about risking other people’s health or lives.
Wearing a cloth mask, especially a loose-fitting one, protects others and does not make you breath your own CO2 — yet, ironically, you’re afraid of that.

100% CORRECT. - I once attended the USAMEDDAC’s Infection Control course in USAREUR & we were told that a “standard surgical mask (the sort that us “non-medical folks” can buy in 2020) were COMPLETELY WORTHLESS against viruses & SOME percentage of bacteria.”
Folks, the requirement to wear an ordinary scarf/painters/surgical mask or other similar covering for the mouth & nose is what we GIs call “EYEWASH”, i.e., something USELESS that we do to FOOL the unknowing sort of folks into thinking that we are “doing something”, even if we (and the smarter members of society) know that what we are doing is utterly FOOLISH & SILLY, in the extreme.

Must be the same pollsters who have Biden ahead by a jillion points. Not even close here on the gulf coast. Notwithstanding the relentless efforts by all the little karens of both sexes to terrorize otherwise sensible people into senseless submission, most, by observation, are still maskless.
No, I don’t believe it is anywhere near as ready as Ebola, but it is deadly, and masks can slow the spread.

Not only do masks make breathing more difficult, they also render me almost blind, because they fog up my glasses.
Today, I went to a Wally World in a neighboring town to do some shopping because that store has a better selection. I estimated less than 20% wore masks.
My sister is a mask advocate (I honestly believe she had the virus) and asked if I knew someone who could make some masks. So a distant relative offered to make several masks. A few days after she delivered the masks, the relative who made our masks tested positive. Oops.
The relative suffered no negative effects from the virus, so I can laugh at the irony. And she suffers from several health issues, so that should be a sign that the virus is overblown.
As I’ve told several people, the rioters and looters weren’t given any grief about being unmasked, so I will hear no more about this foolishness.
I have no idea who told you masks do more harm than good, but that’s an insane perspective. Masks inhibit spread of disease, period. No ifs, and, or buts about it.
Masks improperly worn don’t protect and do a search on mask wearing and CO2 levels and recirculating virus in the air you breath that is trapped in the mask.
And do you honestly think most people know how to use the masks properly?
