Ok yeah, so my previous description fits but now there’s a name to it.

Whatever the actual efficacy of the Hydroxychloroquine turns out to be, the was a clearly messed up ‘study’. An obvious fraud which should never have been accepted.
During the Gulf war, the Lancent also published multiple clearly fraudulent pieces on huge numbers of Iraqi civilian deaths were occurring under occupation, and somehow could not find a single person who had been killed by local/Iranian terrorists.
In addition to generally dubious findings, the description of the methodology showed that the study could not possibly have been carried out within the timeframe stated - and that was simple math.
They have a history of anti-US stuff getting through.
There is a new wrinkle concerning Quinine derivatives—there is a left and right chiral version with different properties. The typical dosage has about a 50/50 mix of the two, with only one version, the ‘S’ variant providing the bulk of the sought for activity. If one were to select to test with the ‘R’ variant, the results would be pre-disposed to provide poor results against the virus.
