Exercise helps strengthen the immune system.

I never knew that......That must be why I survived the last three epidemics without getting sick.

Thats my point I guess I didn't express it well, rhetorically. Apologies - what I have trouble with is this a biological phenomena of nature (viral epidemics) that is being argued over like its abortion or gun control. Thank you for the numbers, and thank you DoughtyOne by the way nicely done.

It seems to me many who say its just the flu, will also suggest that its a bioweapon that escaped from a Wuhan lab - that seems disingenuous to me. Maybe thats me having misreading aggregated sentiment. Perhaps we had intelligence about that lab and what we thought got out wasn't the weaponized strain but we weren't sure, China has a stated goal of being in a hot war with America by 2024 - type of thing.

Also putting the covid folks in the nursing home further complects things, how much does that skew the numbers - or were they already doing that with flu patients and we just now are seeing how democrats states bus tables at nursing homes?

What would have been the correct way to deal with this? I for one am considering most of these issues for the first time. I see Professor Ferguson uses a shitty code to write his program to model the spread and the grim reaper Bill Gates is funding this phony who breaks curfew for some nookie (I read the code - and that is my profession, well writing it other poor bastards have to read that, usually future me is that poor bastard) to lock down the UK. I'm not sure how similar the simulator we used or its quality - the UK's was garbage I know.

The extended shutdown just looks like a ploy to tank the economy to get rid of president Trump. So do these riots and acts of terror.

So no I don't think this is the flu; however, it has made me realize how horrendous the flu ALSO is and think that "It just the flu bro" is a terrible argument as like you said this year its kill 3times the people IN ADDITION to the flu so now we have the flu + covid = a equalent pandemic every year (but next year those numbers could reverse and the flu kills more then covid?). If anything it should make us more vigilant to fight the flu but it points out something else. We can't shutdown like this every year so we need to figure out how to fight these viruses more effectively.

How do we do that in a smart way and still have the quality of lives we are used to or at least very near it?

I don't want naked twister in the streets but I don't want indefinite locks downs either (yes move to a more conservative state, I say that all the time to myself)

Air conditioning could be a nightmare this summer

The govt has lied every step of the way on this - the “science” changed on a weekly basis. Homicide victims in Wash. state we’re being called virus deaths. Give me a single reason I should believe your data? It’s just the flu.

US continues as #9 in the world for deaths per million: 327.12

Belgium (home of European Union) remains #1 with 833.65

Sweden #5 (no exponential explosion in deaths): 446.03 (4,542 deaths)

2 Jun: UK Spectator: Why can’t Neil Ferguson’s Imperial model be replicated?
by Ross Clark
Professor Neil Ferguson has been a little elusive of late – ever since he was forced to resign after he was revealed to have entertained his married lover at his home, thus breaking lockdown rules. But he did emerge from the woodwork this morning to give evidence to the House of Lords select committee on science and technology...
One of the first questions he was asked was by Conservative peer Viscount (Matt) Ridley:

Viscount Ridley: ‘Uppsala University (Sweden) took the Imperial College model – or one of them – and adapted it to Sweden and forecasted deaths in Sweden of over 90,000 by the end of May if there was no lockdown and 40,000 if a full lockdown was inforced. In fact, there have only been 4,350 deaths in Sweden until the end of May. This does seem to be a huge discrepancy and suggests there was something wrong with the model...’

Professor Ferguson: ‘First of all, they did not use our model. They developed a model of their own. We had no role in parameterising it. Generally, the key aspect of modelling is how well you parameterise it against the available data. But to be absolutely clear they did not use our model, they didn’t adapt our model.’...

Trouble is, the Uppsala team say (LINK) they very much did use an adaptation of Ferguson’s work. Their paper states: ‘We employed an individual agent-based model based on work by Ferguson et al…’

Maybe they didn’t employ Ferguson himself to ‘parameterise’ it, but then Ferguson ought to be reminded of one of the basic principles of all scientific work: that it must be possible for other scientists to reproduce your results...

Ferguson is behaving like one of those car manufacturers that tries to insist that its vehicles can only be serviced by its own approved mechanics. Besides the Uppsala team, others have also attempted to replicate the Imperial College model and have found themselves struggling – an Edinburgh University team found that it gave different results when run twice with the same data.

Professor Ferguson surely has some further questions to answer on this subject. Neither the Uppsala University study and the original Imperial paper of 16 March, it ought to be added, have yet been peer-reviewed. It will be interesting to see what happens when they are.

There is no doubt about it you can go to github and get the code repository for yourself that program in its current state shouldn’t be used as it is impossible to tell with any confidence that the intended algorithms are working as desired. The code is F*ck Sh*t stack on top of itself. It could be a perfect crystal ball (it isn’t) but the way its written it is unsafe to use, which is probably why Bill Gates thought it was quality, probably reminded him of his code. What a reprehensible man Bill Gates is turning out to be - I digress.

A 3-6 month vaccine will make a lot of big pharma money.

More importantly, the sheep will have to report to their shepherds for a sheering every few months.

I am in complete accord with this article, but would like to submit the following two suppositions of mine:

1) One possible explanation for the exaggerated response demanded by governments (general lock-downs) could be that govt. insiders know that COVID came from a Chinese weapons laboratory, but that a tacit agreement has been reached to keep this knowledge from the public, since the resultant public reaction would be overwhelmingly anti-Communist, and that "can't be allowed to happen." The Red Chinese would be international pariahs, and the clamor for retribution would be too great to sweep under the rug. Hence, the cover-up.

I see myself that such speculations would put me in deep with the "aluminum-foil" crowd, but I consider it to be a credible possibility (with maybe a 2% chance of being true).

2) A far more likely scenario is that the Wuhan flu is, indeed, an entirely natural phenomenon. In that case, the heavy-handedness of the govt.-imposed measures is best explained by a desire to not focus on that small segment of the populace which is truly "at risk" (the elderly, chronically ill, etc.). I mean, after all, if those over 75 years of age and other high "at-risk" groups were segregated and subjected to a strict quarantine, I have no doubt that the rest of us could continue with our lives and resume work. The institution of such "mild" measures as required facial masks, frequent use of hand sanitizers, etc. would guarantee that the death rate among the general populace would be no higher than during any given flu season in the past fifty years.

But for some reason, there must be a tacit agreement among the "powers that be" that society as a whole must be subjected to the same, draconian measures. I wonder why...

Regards,

Lies, lies, lies. The prophets of Baal are also telling us that natural antibodies are no good. You must have vaccine antibodies. This is insane!?

The death toll of COVID for children is NOT zero [...]

Only if the children already have underlying conditions. And demanding a "zero" death rate is unrealistic: The death toll of, e.g., visiting swimming pools for children is likewise NOT zero.

[...] and it is NOT OK for older people to just be "let die" of it.

No one is saying that they should be simply "allowed to die." Instead, the elderly should have been sequestered. In fact, isolate all those "at-risk" groups and let everyone else willing / able to bear the risk get on with their lives and resume working.

No. No. his data is science. the rest of us are wrong. He has one paper that says so.

The data is suspect on all sides and it will take years to sort it all out. Talking with people who have dealt with this and having spent time at the bedside I can say the disease is real. some people get very sick and die and that is terrible. However it is no worse than any other first wave through a naive population I have seen. The real tragedy is the lives and jobs destroyed by draconian hysterical overreaction pushes by fearmongers and those with their own agenda. It is way past time to open up to normal activity and move on with life.

Do you not understand that every death is being counted as Covid when most people are dying from other illnesses? The test only finds antibodies. If you EVER had Covid in history, you will test positive. Additionally, the government created a perverse incentive to list everything as Covid because hospitals get 30k per patient. We have been played

I have many of the same questions.

IMO (and that’s an OPINION, folks, not a statement of fact), we “should” change our approach during flu season such that if you even THINK you are “having a throat tickle”...wear a mask.

And if you are part of an “at risk” group, wear a mask in large, tight, group situations.

Also more widespread availability of hand sanitizer stations in stores. Make them as ubiquitous as shopping cart stacks.

“The new Fauci memo says that any vaccine will likely only protect you for 3-6 months. This is indeed signs of it being an annual flu.”

A new vaccine every year result in Fauci saying, “MO’ MONEY FOR ME!”

“Nursing homes, assisted living facilities and rehabilitation centers should have been the ground zero point for isolation.”

That’s what I was saying to anyone I could from the moment the first numbers arrived from Italy.

Now what I’m saying is that with $3 trillion, someone could have probably found an ingenious method or two to protect those over 65 yr old. Instead, it went down a hole, and the vulnerable were killed.

Here’s an alternate notion: the virus was manufactured, putting together parts of other viruses, making this one a mystery for assigning a treatment strategy, to keep the spread going long enough for the rest of ‘an’ agenda to be implemented, namely the assassination of the economic health growing world-wide on a credit framework; the globalists released this manufactured virus in Wuhan to cover their tracks as the globalist oligarchy crashed the world economy. The virus may even have been fabricated in Wuhan -Fraudci paid for the work- but ‘someone’ else wanted this tool for the destruction of the world economy.
