"WHERE DID THEY GO???"
They went to summer homes in the Hamptons, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, specifically Cape Cod. It got so bad that the native Hampton People and Cape Codders said they wanted to 'blow up the bridges' leading to those areas. I am sure there were no actual plans to do this, but it shows the stress that the local population has been enduring.
Yesterday, the two bridges leading to the Cape were clogged with traffic. Since everything is closed, this would not be ordinary "Weekend Cape Traffic" but something a bit more sinister, as it is still officially the "off-season".

Thats why I laugh when lefties, Hollywood, etc try to denigrate The South. The majority of the people that live in the south are originally from elsewhere (probably the majority it from the northeast).
