They didnt shoot him while attempting to detain him. They shot him after he attacked the guy AND grabbed his gun.

The shooters(redneck kkk types) were in no imminent danger. They had their eyes and camera on the guy. They called 911 and they were on the way.
At this point it became murder and I’d vote 1st degree murder.
