This is why I will never get a flu shot, they are injecting you with the flu and hoping your antibodies fight it off. Since there are 19 strains of it, you can just catch strain 12 since you’ve already had strain 19. I will NEVER let Big Gov inject me or my kids with any mandatory vaccines. Colleges wanted my daughter to take some to live in the dorms, so she lives at home and goes to school on-line. I don’t trust you anymore, not that I ever did, but this is the end and I know I’m not alone!

A test showing you have antibodies shows that you have acquired immunity.
That’s one value of it. Another is to get a more accurate read on what percentage of the population have been actually been infected, thus to determine accurate mortality rates among those who have been infected. Trending information implies that the infection rate is extremely high and the mortality rates much lower than claimed. That can also have implications about when the virus started circulating.
Waiting so long to get reliable testing going is a significant failure. Those responsible within the CDC should be outed and dismissed.

Only the nasal-spray version of the annual flu vaccine uses live virus, and it is attenuated. The flu shot does not have live virus, so you cannot get the flu from it.

I was responding to JWashington99, who used as an excuse for not getting an annual flu shot that he didn’t want to take a chance on getting the flu.
Someone in my family just sent me an official form of ALL the vaccines their precious newborn ‘must have’......from the CDC

IIRC the test for the virus and the test for antibodies are two seperate and different tests.
These “tainted” tests are for the virus.
My Doc said the flu viruses are chopped up into little pieces and not a complete viral DNA strand so you develop antibodies but not the flu. At least that is what I thought he said - he’s a mumbler and I’m almost deaf.
That said 2 weeks after my first ever flu shot I got a really bad flu...
