Someone must have taken my suggestion to protest on Dr. Amy’s lawn and run with it.

Midwest governors announce partnership to coordinate reopening economies

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on Thursday announced the latest coalition of regional governors who will collaborate on a plan for reopening their states’ economies after the coronavirus pandemic subsides.

The alliance will include Pritzker, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R), Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb (R), Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D), Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D).

“We are doing everything we can to protect the people of our states and slow the spread of COVID-19, and we are eager to work together to mitigate the economic crisis this virus has caused in our region,” the governors said in a joint statement.

May 1st is an eternity to businesses hanging by a thread...by then a lot of small businesses will be out of business! I guess that’s what they want!

I’ll believe it when it happens. The fair lady Acton has been listening to “scientists” don’t you know? And that monster is still around.

I’m curious as to how they’ll stage the opening up, and what restrictions will they “recommend”?

This is good news and hopefully other Govs will follow as the hospitalization stats start falling. Personally I think small biz stores and services could open even sooner as we see in Europe but the Govs are all deathly afraid of being on the front end of the 2nd wave.

What is absurd is for my state of Kalifornia, which is clearly peaking now at far lower levels than projected, to delay a paced re-opening until June 1.

I hope this adds more pressure on my state of PA to also reopen.

The light at the end of the tunnel has been extremely dim. For now, I'm glad to at least be able to see it. I'll enjoy this news for now until I get "PO'd" about it tomorrow.

Ok, so Ohio is part of a 3-state deal with Gov. Brassiere and Gov. Holcomb. I fully expect Holcomb to follow suit BUT I expect that the grapes of wrath need to be unleashed on the Suthern contingent of this trio...

Great, let the people protect themselves and get back to work. The government needs to keep the roads open and reduce Red tape and taxes.

I bet Rush is right, and just about when these two weeks are over they’ll extend another two weeks, and so forth.

If he is in a midwestern alliance with all those rat governors there is no way he reopens on May 1...

“I am an optimist and am confident that Ohioans will also live up to the challenge of doing things differently as we open back up beginning on May 1st,”

He was pretty clear. Gotta remember that he was one of the first to close down, so he's been setting the trend, for better or worse.
