LOL! Is Cuomo saying Big Government has failed him? Is he ready to give up the Progressive (Communist) dream?
OTOH-If Cuomo would just simply manage what he has and appreciate whatever assistance the Federal government can give him, then he could get through this.
This is a perfect example of why Big Government won’t work and how Progressives (Communists) are inept at managing government.
Cuomo told fleeing NYC residents that they didn’t need to self-quarantine for 2 weeks after reaching their destinations because WuFlu is everywhere.
Cuomo can kiss any prospects of national office goodbye after that.
And why NYS has lost almost half its House seats in the last 60 years.
Half its power in the chamber with the power of the purse.
Note to the nation: Vote for people like Cuomo and you, too, can live in a mess like NYS.

There is no one who currently needs a ventilator in NY who doesn’t have one. According to Dr. Birks Thursday afternoon there were up to 2000 UNUSED ventilators in NY. The dems and media aren’t above taking someone off a ventilator, hiding the ventilator and broadcasting the results.
If there’s 2000 ventilators in a NY warehouse, and a hospital is doubling up patients, then there’s something wrong with the logistics in NYC. Putting more in the warehouse won’t help.
Check the stats for survival after being intubated in an ICU - it's significantly less than 50%, closer to 20%.
And that is apparently for normal just-being-on-a-ventilator.
Not massive lung damage from a covid-type attack.

Sitting in a warehouse NOW and Cuomo says they don’t need them NOW, they are for the FUTURE.
From the studies I’ve found, in hospital survival post intubation is near 80%, though 1 year survival is closer to 50%. This is a function of the severity of an illness that leads to mechanical ventilation. It’s somewhat of a Hail Mary to keep the patient alive, knowing a living patient has infinitely higher odds of recovery over a dead one.
I’ve also heard at least two doctors put the survival rate of CV19 victims placed on ventilators at about 30%. Not good at all, but we can’t just give up on those 30% if we have the capacity to save them. If we do get to the point of running out of ventilators, then triage should increase the survival odds of those who get them. Watching the interviews with some of these ICU doctors and nurses, you can see how it tortures them to see such a high percentage of their patients die.
