Furthermore, this guy Dr. Fauci has been high up in the national medical establishment for decades. He has literally seen every disease, epidemic, and pandemic going all the way back to the discovery of the AIDS outbreak. And yet this is the first time he’s recommending that the entire country literally be shut down. Why?? Seems more than a little fishy to me.

I just looked it up. From April 17 to October 17 it was 7 months to declare a national emergency.

In that time the CDC estimates 2500-6000 Americans died of H1N1.

I still can’t believe we are shutting down the world over a strain of the FLU that has a much lower mortality rate than the Standard, everyday FLU??

I still can't believe anyone is still making statements like this.

The "Top Doc", Dr. Falaci, who President Trump seems to trust, said that the coronavirus results in 10X more fatalities than the flu.

And of course, we can look at countries that weren't run by President Trump, and therefore didn't take it seriously and lock down travel from China beginning in January, but instead went with the attitude of "it's just the flu, Bro".

Italy, being the poster child. for the nonchalant "it's just the flu, Bro" handling of the outbreak give us a good window into what it might look like if we fail:

Italian army trucks are parked next to a monument in Bergamo yesterday as they prepared to take coffins out of the city.

This doesn't happen every year in Italy, every flu season. This is different. It's faster moving, and it's more deadly. Just because you haven't had your loved ones loaded onto military trucks to be mass cremated because of the virus, like these poor unfortunates in Italy, doesn't mean *it can't happen here*.

I submitted this opinion piece to my local Gannett newsrag; it was published in the online forum but may or may not make the print issue. They’ve cut out the opinion page except for Friday and Sunday. Here it is:

Have you noted the (fake) outrage over President Trump calling COVID-19 coronavirus a Chinese virus? Where is the outrage at the Chinese Communist government which acted early to shut down the spread of information about the disease, which paved the way for freedom of travel by carriers of the illness?

A CNN commentator suggested that President Trump be charged with homicide for his less than adequate response to the coronavirus outbreak, as over 100 people have died of it as of this time. Funny, I don’t recall them calling for charges against President Obama in 2010 when over 1,000 people had died of the H1-N1 Swine Flu (another Chinese disease) epidemic before he made any move to help curb it!

In 2018 a late night so-called comedian said the the economy would have to be tanked to prevent Trump’s reelection. Looks like he may get his wish. Any pain YOU suffer will be worth it, in their eyes.

I would not be surprised if I learned that Democrats in a back room somewhere are busy strategizing how to spread corona into the less affected parts of the country. Never let a crisis go to waste, after all.

After the Russia-Russia-Russia, Ukraine-Ukraine-Ukraine and impeach-impeach-impeach hoaxes it would not be surprising if the administration had treated the initial reports as more fake news designed for political effect. He never called the outbreak a hoax, only the media’s reporting on it.

Bottom line is, Trump could cure cancer and they’d accuse him of depriving the doctors and other medical personnel who specialize in treating cancer of their income. Lord preserve us from fakes, phonies and frauds! < end >

BTW, they edited out the fourth paragraph. Seems they don’t think RATs are conferencing about how to spread the disease for political advantage! And they removed two Russias, two Ukraines and two impeaches, for brevity I guess.

In 2020, CNN started lambasting Trump in its coronavirus coverage.
