The Church could bless some rubbing alcohol and put that in the holy water bowls.....

Not only that, she is arguing to keep traditions of men in place for the optics. God cares nothing for traditions of men, so these practices are all for nothing. Yes, it is just as foolish as the Muslims licking the shrines.

I have to wonder when was the last time this “catholic” went to Mass during lent.

Er, she's a daily communicant, so most likely it was pretty recent. . .

Many churches have opted to remove the holy water during lent as a way to remind the faithful that we are dust without God.

Dust we art for sure, but interestingly, draining the fonts before Good Friday is actually not allowed. (Not that some Progressive-leaning Catholic churches won't push the envelope in various directions.) The Church's reasoning, from what I read, is that sacramentals bring us graces, so we shouldn't be abstaining from them in Lent any more than we should abstain from prayer. Sin, bad habits, lotsa meat and desserts, easy living, well yeah.

Why are most of us acting as if there's no such thing as redemptive suffering?

I never heard of such a thing, but I don't adhere to RCC extra biblical silliness.

Interesting.

Just because I want to end up in heaven, doesn’t mean I want to go next month.
