One thing about LBJ that was hilarious is he had an amphibious car and he liked to take people who didn’t know that for tours of his ranch in the amphib-mobile.
He enjoyed screaming that his brakes went out as he headed straight for a lake and the passengers panicked when he drove right into the water.

My mom said LBJ did hilarious-but-sadistic pranks like that-on another ranch trip, he talked his VP Hubert Humphrey-who was an out-of-shape city type-into mounting a horse that everyone knew was too willful and stubborn to be a good mount for an inexperienced person like the VP-and the horse behaved as badly as expected-LBJ supposedly enjoyed his prank, laughing his ass off, never mind that the VP or someone standing nearby could have been seriously injured by the horse’s tantrum. No sane ranch bred person would do that-you would get a beatdown the minute your victim was able to get off that horse-but apparently rank had its privileges...
I don’t remember any of the neighbors around us in W Texas not hating LBJ-he was called by every contemptuous and profane name in English and Spanish...
The only thing unprecedented is the hate and violence from the left.
I think the term back then would have been that LBJ was “colorful”.
For cruel pranksters, you can look back at old Hollywood. Two that come right to my mind are Hitchcock and Carl “Alfalfa” Switzer of the “Little Rascals” (who met his fate at the wrong end of a pistol). Both played really rotten tricks on others.

JFK having his brother as Attorney General. Obama going after the NYT’s James Risen and FNC’s James Rosen. All of these in the article are examples of Dem presidents doing much worse than Trump. And the article doesn’t mention about policy decisions where Obama just flouted the Law, like with DACA and the “Dreamers” or how Obama lied about ObamaCare and Benghazi.

A blue Amphicar. I saw one of those crossing the Potomac down by the Pentagon back when he was President. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was him taking it out for a spin.
I did once see one of Johnson’s daughters drive right past me as I was walking to school one morning. Driving a new blue Corvette down Carlyn Springs Road flanked front and back by two black sedans. A birthday gift from what I’ve read since.
Could be, dunno if he had one in DC, tho.
LBJ was an SOB, but Ladybird and the daughters were good people.
Johnson came to town when I was a lad, saw him then giving a speech in a park.
