Decades ago, I was 29 and in great health. I got promoted and part of my new job was to fly from the east coast to the west coast and back a few times each month.
At first I could fly first class on 747's, and the jet lag was minimal after I learned to never drink alcohol while flying in a plane and o coffee or tea, just bottled water and a lot. The planes were so dry that I could drink 6-8 bottles of water and maybe pee once a trip, even on first class.
Then, the company went on an economy rage, and no first class flying for the peons, us.
Besides the narrow cramped seats, the air seemed to be dryer and very stale compared to first class.
Then, the flights from the West coast in the cattle car brought on jet lag for me. I would fly back on Friday and was jet lagged until midweek of the next week.
I convinced my company to move me out to the west coast, and that worked until I had to fly back east to meetings.

Absolutely, with the long half life this virus apparently has on even dry and hard surfaces.

Plus the big vans/big or small buses that take people to and from airports.

That dried out air allows viri to lift off the ventilation surface structures and travel into your lungs. They have to put in viral air filters or stop all flights, due to Corona and whatever else leaked out of that Chinese biomedical lab. I find just spraying lysol into the ventilation system at least wets down the dust and stuff on ventilation surfaces.

I stopped flying. They should do that between flights though. During cleanup at least.
