I’ve worried about that very thing since I heard that SCOTUS Roberts will be involved. Roberts... who gave us Obamacare, and oversees FISA.
I don’t know what’s up with Romney. He wants to be President desperately. He knows that we are with PDJT 95%, which means we agree with Romney’s antics only 5%. Can’t he figure out that he’d be smart to hitch his wagon to Trump’s star? It must be hard to be as stupid as he is.
And we have to assume that assassination has been attempted. We just don’t know about it. They WILL try if this impeachment fails.

Decisions today should absolutely be made on what the definition was when the FF wrote the Constitution.

That’s why I repeat as much as possible that the American People need to understand, learn, read, and apply the Constitution was written and originally understood and intended by the ratifiers.
Trump is NOT that popular in Utah, and only won with 45% of the vote. 21% of Utah voted for an absolute nobody, who received only .5% nation wide, just because he is a Mormon. Utah has two Mormon Senators, and both oppose Trump. Romney (and Senator Lee) opposing Trump does not hurt him in Utah as much as people think. Being a Mormon trumps everything else.
As a freshman Senator, he is basically a nobody, and supporting Trump does not advance his goal of being President. He will not have any major leadership roles or key committee chairmanships for a decade. Supporting Trump means no media attention, and no visibility. Opposing Trump means fawning attention and glowing media coverage. His plan is to be a "maverick", and hope Trump loses so he can step in to the spotlight and claim he is the "true conservative" and the "moral compass" of the party. And the media will support him, right up until they stab him in the back when he runs against a Democrat. Guys like Romney and McCain never learn.
