I have a Sun Tsu book by Chairman Mao on how he used “Art of War” to win the revolution in 1949.

The subject fascinates me. It is the strategy used by China and Russia today

Well stated explanation as to why Pres. Trump has a number of bad players in his administration. He is going through a learning curve with the DC swamp. I also put blame on his transition team.

Thank you. I am retired Navy. NavAir. Nearly 30 years. I don’t wear it on my sleeve or mention it much. I only mention it here at all because of your post.

My first enlistment was 4 years in the Corp. I left after 4. Went to University and then went back into the service because I missed the camaraderie.

I missed it very much. There is nothing that compares.

But, I decided to commission in the Navy after graduation. So many more opportunities than were available in the Corp.

That said, I have never ever forgotten the Marine Corp. enlisted experience that was the start of it all. That experience has kept me grounded.

It was my humble beginning.

God Bless your Senior Chief husband and your CPO friend.

BTW, FYI, my former enlisted Marine background, and my lack of HS to College to Officer background was a hindrance to my military career.

This was something I battled my entire career. I don’t resent it. But, it was something that I had to deal with. It was a fact of life. I was in competition my entire career with HS to College and HS to Naval Academy Grads.

I was early on in my Naval Officer career always referred to as the Grunt. I look back on it now and smile. But, back then it pissed me off. It was a disrespect meant to put me down because I didn’t go straight to College from HS.

Why do I mention any of this to you? Because I have a hunch that somehow you will understand and appreciate it.

Hands down! Absolutely. I’ve known very few E9’s that made it that far without being political animals themselves. Fire the MCPON! He certainly doesn’t know the first thing about standing up for his troops.

How could he stand idly by while one of his own was being railroaded for posing with a godamned corpse! What a pussified asshole!

Sure do. Hubby did it in reverse. Enlisted in 1958-1980 as no one was hiring his age group, he followed in his elder brother’s shoes and went Navy. Elder brother was WW 11 and shipped out on the first ship out of the ship yards that replaced the sunken USS Lexington..Lady Lex. His middle brother was Army in Korea. After 20 yrs he went and got his college degree to teach, spent the next 20 as a Prof in the Electronic/Math/Computers, retired as chair head of the dept. He was also highly busy in the Ham Radio system. While he has slowed it down he still is part of the Emergency Response team for the local hospital. He was aboard the USS Midway when they pulled the Amb out of Nam. Off the coast of Cuba during the Missile Crisis.. Mostly taught A/B school. On Ship he worked the Flight deck.
