In other words, the citizen eating a sandwich acted like any free American should. People with attitudes such as yours are not fit to live under our Constitution, IMO.
III. Eat or drink in the paid areas of the stations or on the trains.
I lived in LA and San Francisco 1969-71. LA was a very vicious police state under Chief Gates. I went to SF near the end of the Haight St. era.
Big Sur was the big draw. So much fun. But the hippies turned out to be the Socialists SWJ bastards that we recognize.
California from 1955-72 was the utopia then it just collapsed into a nightmare.
I drove my wife from SF to LA on the coast in 1983 and all the Big Sur beaches had been fenced off.
Its a shame and they did to themselves.
I guess you don’t live in an area where Third Worlders bring their Third World (often illegal) behavior with impunity.
“So, you must provide ze papers! on demand now? For eating a sandwich on the BART platform? I know this is California, but even Cali isnt Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia just yet..”
Per the law: If an officer has probable cause and you fail to ID yourself on request, you can be arrested.
The guy eating the sandwich had no obligation to give the cop his name.
Incorrect. Eating was a minor violation and he can be cited. The officer has probable cause and can arrest him if he refuses ID. If they wanted to cite him and he refused his name, he can be arrested and he was.
I counted 4-6 policeman escorting this guy away. Something wrong with that picture.
I'm just sayin'....
