And why?
Because it is the People (House) and the States (Senate) that go to war, and it should be up to them.
Now, chris37, if you think Congress should be done away with temporarily (Sulla), or permanently (Cromwell), I'm 2/3 of the way there.
Personally, I lean toward doing away with it.
If I woke up tomorrow and there were no more congressmen or senators ever again, I’d be pretty darned okay with it.
Obama’s lax Foreign Policies basically created ISIS. They were defeated by Trump’s Foreign Policy. Now the Deep State is blaming Trump if ISIS resurfaces? Huh. Thought Trump had done his best to destroy them and now wants our Military out, to force the Middle East countries to act on their own.
FRiends, it is up to US to get involved and fix this mess.
The Framers gave us a near-magical new system of government, in which We The People get to choose our own government. No more “divine right of kings” or conquering warlords. This was wildly radical to the world!
But for our system to work, WE have to play a role. WE have to serve in government. (Yeah, my nose is wrinkling too.) WE have to fix what the Clown Show has ruined. But how?
Sadly, only those with no shame whatsoever are willing to run for office nowadays. We’ve created a Political Class that (mis)handles all things politics, and in exchange we only have to tolerate them at election time.
