Uh Oh...Jim Cantore is in Stuart this morning. Not a good sign.
He won’t stay long. His next stop will be Charleston, SC.
Ill be relieved when Cantore exits Stuart.
(I think that you meant "EASTWARD.")
No. Dorian is moving due West, rather than WNW. I meant Westward.
Oh, I got ya, sorry... I thought that you were referring to the potential track!!
8 AM NHC update:
The center of Hurricane #Dorian is now forecast to remain over water.
But the storm will be quite large by Tuesday and significant impacts to Florida may still occur.

What does it mean when Cantore is in an area?
Is he a storm magnet?
Or does it mean he thinks this is the area of impact?
Well, its a known fact that Hurricanes can sense Jim Cantores presence and steer towards him...
Yes.
On Friday I saw a what I believe to be a crew on their way toward FL (trucks were marked High Wire) in convoy containing at least the four trucks I spotted on the DC Beltway. Suspect they are heading for prearranged rally points in N FL, S GA, possibly S AL.
I work as an Arborist, but doubt we will send any crews down till next week. After National HQ gets the requests from whichever local office covers the area hit.
Of course Bernie gets no recognition
Good to see Hurricane vet and Friend on hear Rod....
Regular channels all want viewers glued to their station. Many develop a “ friend like” relationship with on air personalities instead of checking multiple sources to stay totally informed.
That said, until this storm passes Bahamas we won’t know what’s happening but the offshore version is definitely much preferred.
We are still making landfall type preparations here in the Stuart/Palm City area...
P.S. no problem with the political injections.... weather is still part of MSM and has the viewership objective. Also I’m sure the stations don’t want to lose it because they gave the “ all clear” signal too early...
There is nothing quite so awesome as seeing a convoy of cherry picker trucks barreling down the interstate for a storm. It truly brings hope to an otherwise dire situation.
When the Weather Channels deploys Jim Cantore it is time to get out of Dodge.
You betcha. We are evacuating my mother from there this afternoon. All packed and ready to go. She also knows what it means to have Jim Cantore in town.
That was the NOAA timestamp. They are probably ballpark.
