They wouldn't be if they were full of conservatives teaching traditional values and pride in America. But all those conservatives are "shouting at the tsunami" from the comfort of their living rooms.
The problems outlined in post 29 are **foundational** to socialist-entitlement government schooling. Having conservatives running the gulags ( oops! Socialist-entitlement government schools) does not eliminate the socialist foundation.
Does having government build highways make them socialist highways, and do you avoid driving on them?
The last I checked roads and bridges were not **ABUSING** children, their parents, or citizens under police threat to fund this **ABUSE**.
Gee! Roads and bridges for the most are locally managed and maintained through contracts with **private companies.**The workers for these **private** companies were not going to work and being paid to crush the freedom of speech, press, assembly, and expression of religion. Neither were they **forcing** children to think and reason godlessly. ( All children in government socialist school **must** think and reason godlessly just to cooperate in the godless classroom. How could it be otherwise?
Government schooling is ABUSE! They are a human rights and freedom of conscience abomination.
By conservatives becoming teachers and changing it, as I said. But most conservatives are too lazy to do anything but strut their stuff online, singing their virtues in an echo chamber. So proud of yourself for doing nothing.
So? ....Your solution is to force children to adopt a God-centered worldview? How could that be religiously neutral?
Axiom: A religiously, culturally, and politically neutral education is impossible. Such a state of philosophic neutrality is impossible in the mind of any sentient human. This can not be reformed.
**Fundamentally**, government socialist schools violate freedom of religion, press, assembly, and speech. They are an abomination.
Government socialist schools are NOT religiously neutral. They never have been. Initially, they imposed a generic Protestantism. By the time I graduated it was 5 mins. of lukewarm Protestantism in the morning and non-stop atheistic secularism until I finished my homework and went to bed. Today, government schools are 100% godless, except for Islam.
Government schools are a human rights abuse.
No, my solution is to teach reading, writing, history, and government from the point of view that Western Civilization is a good thing, and America is a great country. It’s not rocket science. Conservatives could do it easily if they wanted to. They’d just rather grandstand online. It’s so much easier.
How would you do that since a religiously, culturally, and politically neutral education is impossible.
This is fundamental to the existence of our human nature. It is an axiom.
You simply teach them the greatest literature of Greek, Roman, Hebrew, Christian, British, and early American history, and don’t teach the rest of history by white-washing Communism or emphasizing the negatives in America’s past. over the positive of its founding documents, creation, wealth, and power. Public education is as much a benefit as roads and bridges when it’s done by people who love and respect this country and our heritage. Which conservatives SAY they do, but then they leave the children to be educated by a bunch of Marxists because their conscience is too delicate to interfere. Then they wonder why the whole country is sliding into the abyss. Look no further than the mirror. The hand that rocks the cradle is liberal because conservatives abdicated on the grounds that it was too difficult and didn’t pay enough. Now they sit around trashing teachers and claiming it’s an easy job with ridiculously high pay. But will they do it? Not on your life. Rather be a backseat driver and take no responsibility.
If you cannot see that education cannot be religiously, politically, or culturally neutral. And...That this compulsory-attendance and compulsory-funded socialist schooling is utterly incompatible with the First Amendment and freedom of conscience, then there is nothing more I can say.
Thankfully,....This powerful idea is gaining momentum and like a tsunami will sweep through the conservative community.
As I previously posted, ideas are the most powerful things in the universe. That we exist at all began as an idea in the mind of God.
Oh please, it's a ripple in a puddle, and you are just taking the easy way out. Public schools are not going away. We can make them work for us, if we get involved, or we can sit back and watch our youth be indoctrinated.
You've chosen your path: the easy one.
