I doubt that a 47 star flag was even issued. There was a 49 star flag briefly and a postage stamp was even issued on July 4, 1959 to honor it:

Note seven rows of seven stars.

When I was in grammar school, all of the flags were 48 star flags. This was in the 1960s. Our city didn’t buy new flags very often.

Got a 49 star flag stashed somewhere. Maybe I should sell it in Alaska on eBay.

Used to participate more on FR. now I just donate monthly and lurk. But today I have the day off. Happy 4th to all and pls support FR

I have several 48-star flags.

They came from the family over time. A couple were casket drapes from vet family members who died before the change.
