YES!
President Trump is now 100% inoculated, thanks to Jeff Sessions’ recusal, and thanks to his “hands off” policy toward the witch hunt. The two year long cavity search forced upon him has shown the American people that he is both clean and transparent.
But was it forced upon him? I think not. The President’s frequent expressions of outrage and disappointment regarding both the recusal and the witch hunt helped characterize the Mueller investigation as adversarial and painstakingly thorough.
Everyone on both sides seemed convinced that Mueller was a tool of the deep state, determined to lay the grounds for impeachment, if not indictment. Nobody thought Mueller was going to whitewash the President, even though he was appointed by and reporting to Trump’s own DOJ. Why? Because of the recusal and because of President Trump’s frequent expressions of outrage and disappointment.
To me, it always seemed like a deliberate “Br’er Fox, whatever you do, PLEASE don’t throw me in that briar patch!” strategy, not something forced on the President.
Or, if it wasn’t a strategy, it sure should have been..
I don’t think so. The IG and AG will reveal the truth, I believe.
