Ask the pope. I’m sure he will agree. Rebuild it with alternating Christian/m*slim/Jewish/atheist decorations. The spire can have alternating symbols: cross, crescent, star of David, picture of Richard Dawkins.

There is some historical precedent for this. The Soviets, when they didn’t raze cathedrals turned them into warehouses and anti-religion museums. But even though the Soviets (and their admirers) knew they were the future, today’s Russians are rebuilding the cathedrals that we’re lost.

Many people forget that the word "church" is taken from the Greek word: Εκκλησία, Pronounced, Eklesia, which means a gathering or assembly of people.

We tend today, to equate the church with a building. The building can be destroyed, but the church will live on.
