Trump and his advisers frequently use Bush as a punching bag.

So did the drive-by media back in the day.

Nearly every damn politician to hold office for the past 30 or 40 years has betrayed the American citizens on immigration.

The damage Bush Jr. did to this country is incalculable and who knows if we will ever recover. I cannot stomach the man, shoving his friends, the Clintons and Obamas down our throats at every opportunity while dissing Trump. I think I despise Bush more than any Democrat..if that’s even possible.

How long before the unlimited influx of these invaders collapses the U.S. Welfare system? It will not be pleasant.

The Bush Doctrine:

Attack the wrong country after 911

Spend 7 Trillion and thousands of American lives in a war that wasn’t in America’s interest.

Leave the border wide open. (911 was the time to deal with the border problems.

Seriously, who can defend this?

Bush would have destroyed the United States if it weren't for 9-11.

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. Why is Miller using that low-ball figure of 12M? There were certainly more than that here just a decade ago.

Shrub was open borders. It was as simple as that. He did not protect us, period.

Watching it now.

I have a question if anyone offer insight. This notion of “appropriation of funds” for the wall. Hasn’t this been done multiple times in the past? As in Reagan’s amnesty was supposed to include additional barriers and during W’s tenure wasn’t there again supposed to additional barriers??

If so then it HAS been appropriated.

Some day Stephen Miller should be our President. It’s good to see younger people thinking like many of us older folk do.
