Chris Wallace thought he was onto something big when he quoted the Constitution mandating that Congress only can appropriate money from the Treasury. He would not let it go.
Why did not someone point out to the idiot that Trump is NOT appropriating money from the Treasury, but only moving money around that has already been appropriated from the Treasury by Congress.
Another thing, he quoted Rush criticizing Obama from issuing executive orders.
Why did not Rush say that Trump was issuing executive orders based on the law passed by Congress, while Obama was issuing orders without or in contradiction to the law passed by Congress.
Bottom line, Busch lied. Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. And his Wars beginning and Iraq has made the country less safe.
Thanks for having my back, bub!
Bush was too weak on terrorists. That is why we are still dealing with it today. He should have nuked Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq. Maybe nuke Syria as well.
That way the USA would have a perfect record of nuking anyone who attacks our home land.
Bush is directly responsible for the Student loan mess. In the 2005 Bankruptcy reform law Bush eliminated being able to discharge student loans via bankruptcy as a favor to his donor Alfred Lord, CEO of Sallie Mae. Because of this, creditworthiness of borrower went out the window and anyone wanting to go to college received a student loan. Then if they default on the loans, the taxpayer, i.e. you and I, pays the holder of the loan. This has created a gravy train of people who don’t belong in college going to college or trade school or some of the other “schools” advertised on late night TV, i.e. chef, art design, et al. They receive useless degrees but keep a constant flow of students going to these institutions. And when they can’t find work and default on these loans the taxpayer foots the bill. The government can then go after the defaulter, that costs the taxpayers more expense in legal and collections fees, plus the defaulter may not be able to ever pay back the loan or it may takes year to pay it back. Time is money and as inflation destroys the value of money the taxpayers, in essence lose.
Yes, Bush was a better choice than Kerry or Gore, but they all just show the type of scoundrels that are politicians. The type of people that make used car salesmen respectable.
Bush was gutless.
He waited around for consensus on Saddam while the WMD’s were moved overland into Syria right under our noses.
So what if Saddam was a jerk, not our problem.
Where shrub really failed was two-fold...he took the political capital given to him by Republican voters and used it to push for cheap labor for his crony friends at the country club and most alarmingly stole the 4th amendment from all Americans.
I walked my district for the man in 2000 & 2004 and got to shake his hand during a CA stop...should have thrown eggs.
Still bitter about that betrayal.
Trump and his advisers frequently use Bush as a punching bag.
So did the drive-by media back in the day.
Bush-41 was worse.
Nearly every damn politician to hold office for the past 30 or 40 years has betrayed the American citizens on immigration.
Reagans biggest mistake..George Bush..
His WMD argument was a farce. A stockpile of gas shells over in Iraq was no threat to America.
It was an idiotic neocon plan to topple governments all across the middle east. The idiot destroyed our nation by opening the moslem floodgates.
Spit
We took out one strongman and then took his place ourselves. We weren't prepared for the consequences. And it has destroyed the lives of too many of our own and those of countless others in that region.
> His WMD argument was a farce. A stockpile of gas shells over in Iraq was no threat to America. <
Some analysts say that Saddam’s WMDs were meant to intimidate Iran, not the United States.
I find that argument very convincing. But evidently W did not. So at a great cost W knocks out Saddam. Iran could not have asked for more.
Reagan was treated much like Trump and had to take Bush to placate the uni-party wing of the GOP.
Tell me something I didn’t know.......
The damage Bush Jr. did to this country is incalculable and who knows if we will ever recover. I cannot stomach the man, shoving his friends, the Clintons and Obamas down our throats at every opportunity while dissing Trump. I think I despise Bush more than any Democrat..if that’s even possible.
The home grown death to America crowd ... and their choice of a foreign muzzle to complete the job and hang the blame on.....
Only one problem, they were Trumped!
Hopefully, he can unwind their years of betrayal and send America down the right path.
My research at the time led me to believe we should go to war in Iraq. But I now see my research sources were all biased. I didnt have a real picture. If I am honest, the lefties against the war were more right than we were, even if for the wrong reasons. (It wasnt blood for oil; it was blood for a globalist oligarchy.) George Bush last night admitted that Saddam Hussein had no hand in the 9/11 terror attacks, but he asked Americans to support a war in Iraq that he said was the defining struggle of our age. On a day of sorrow and remembrance, beginning with a moment of silence at Ground Zero and ending in a prime time TV address from the Oval Office, Mr Bush tried to steel Americans for the long war ahead against al-Qaida which he described as an epochal struggle. His speech was also focused on November's congressional elections where the Republicans face a groundswell of discontent about the war in Iraq. The president conceded some crucial ideological ground, formally disavowing the neo-conservative accusation that Saddam had played a role in the attacks on September 11 2001. But he was unapologetic about the decision to invade Iraq. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2006/sep/12/september11.usa2

Agreed. And to that I’d add: Bush Jr. also did incalculable damage to Europe. His invasion of Iraq made possible the Syrian civil war. And that war sparked the great flood of Muslim “immigrants” to Europe.
Sometimes I wonder. Would Al Gore have been a better president? I suppose I’ll get slammed for this. But I think the answer to that question is “probably”. Because Gore never would have invaded Iraq.
Bottom line, Busch lied. Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11!
